One of the first things they learn is how to respond politely -- "yes ma'am, no ma'am" and "yes sir, no sir" -- which sets such a great foundation for confidence and character. Over the past few months, we've watched our daughter's confidence grow so much. She looks forward to every class and is always excited to show us what she's learned. A huge shoutout to Instructor Chet, Instructor Noah, and Instructor Kelly for making the Little Tigers classes so much fun and for encouraging the kids every step of the way. Watching her progress through the belts and even overcome her fear of breaking a board has been amazing. We can't say enough good things about this program -- it's been such a positive experience for our whole family!

Before joining, he would get easily distracted and often gave up quickly when things became difficult. Over time, we've seen a big improvement in his focus, resilience, and patience. He now sticks with challenges instead of giving up, and he's learning how to stay calm and manage his emotions better when things don't go his way. These are skills that have helped him not only in Taekwondo but also in everyday life. The instructors and masters are very understanding, patient, and supportive. They take the time to guide each child and provide the encouragement they need to grow both physically and mentally. We're very grateful to be part of this community and highly recommend this school to any parents looking for a positive and supportive environment for their kids.

We had an American kickboxing champion and a women's Olympic Taekwondo champion training there. The standard was high, the discipline was real, and the expectations pushed us to become better every single day. Master Ferrer was truly special. His leadership, patience, and passion for the art left a lasting impact on me. I trained in Taekwondo, kickboxing, and kali, five hours a day. It was demanding, exhausting, and sometimes painful, but I loved every moment of it. Those years were more than just training. They were about growth, character, and brotherhood. They taught me resilience, humility, and respect. These lessons stayed with me long after I left the mat. Master Ferrer, thank you for the memories and for the guidance you gave me during such an important time in my life. I was genuinely happy there, and I will always be grateful. My name is John Kim. I hope you remember me, but whether you do or not, please know that I have never forgotten you.

He also has trouble focusing at school and home, so wanted to give him something to keep busy. I wasn't looking to make him the next MMA champion or anything crazy. I just wanted him to learn to throw a punch and be able to defend himself, while also keeping him active. This place seems to be doing a good job with all of those. My son loves coming here and enjoys working out with other students. Coach David and Kru Stephanie are excellent with the students and seem to know how to tap into their potential. I like that they sometimes turn some training sessions into games to keep kids more engaged. All the students are nice too. I've been to some martial arts studios where some of the students act like thugs. I haven't seen seen any bad characters here. Kids/teens Muay Thai classes are held Tuesday, Thursday, Friday (sparring), and Saturday. Adult classes are held Monday thru Saturday. If you sign up here you can also take Taekwondo at Ferrer Academy, located on Lincoln Avenue near Moody Street. Such a small world because I used to train there over 30 years ago. Turns out the owner of this studio is the daughter of my former instructor. Tuition can be paid month-to-month or you can sign a 6-month or annual contract. Price is obviously better with longer contracts. Not sure if it's still offered but we were given a 2-week free trial period when we first signed up.

The instructors were always very patient, helpful and aware of all the kids. The overall vibe of this place was, and is still is amazing. She always felt part of the family and specially enjoyed kids fun nights. Every now and then, they had fun activities for the kids with jumpers and music which I thought was amazing and it gave the kids the opportunity to get to know each other better. After taking a one year break and as of today my daughter and I have re enrolled in the muay thai classes and we both can't wait to get started! Coach Johnson has always being extremely helpful and I appreciate that very much. It is people like him that go the extra mile to help someone better themselves and give us that extra push we ALL sometimes need. I highly recommend All In MMA for kids and adults, and I look forward to the epic trainings

You can roll until your heart's content at the end of class.  The gym is superbly clean. They have ghostbusters vacuum cleaners, alcohol spray to wipe your feet prior to getting onto the mat. I wish all gyms did this to keep feet and hands clean. Plenty of benches for parents to watch their kids. They have actual hand soap and paper towels in two individual bathrooms. Real fucking toilet paper. Changing rooms for both women and men with locker. There is even a separate room with mat space for privates.  The mat space is incredibly spacious with custom fuji mats. Cubbies for your belongings, a water filter station, and kettlebells.  The vibe of the community is very island vibes. Guam, Hawaii, Philippines and more. He is now a candidate belt, training for his black belt. Hands down, Tom Vo's program is the most effective, reliable, consistent, and challenging among the dojos I've heard about from other parents. Simply put, Tom Vo's program is incomparable. ALL the masters, leadership are amazing! They exemplify what you would want to see in a leader and a mentor! The kids are introduced to the program in a way that allows them to level up as they take on increasingly challenging activities. The gradual progression is truly something to witness and be a part of. One of the greatest benefits of this program is that kids and parents alike can see different levels of skills to aspire to. The philosophy of "training makes perfect" and pushing through challenges is a valuable lesson that is constantly reinforced. That said, these benefits don't come easy--just like anything worthwhile in life. It takes hard work, discipline, and consistency. There is a commitment required from the students and guidance expected from the parents. We are truly grateful for the dedication and effort the masters put into working with the students. I love seeing my little one grow and take ownership of both the small and big things in life. The experiences that our little one goes through in this program such as tournament, belt testing, intense black belt camp, leading warm-up in class and everyday interactions with other kids in different walks of life are opportunities to have unique and valuable conversations that no other environment can offer. Tom Vo Tae Kwon Do gives these kids a better chance and a greater opportunity to succeed in life.

But like swim, we think of this sport as a life skill, a sport that we want the boys to do for their lifetime. Coach Alex is patient and very thorough in his demonstrations and examples. The other instructors are just as wonderful in their instruction and flexibility in working with the kids. Life lessons of anti-bullying, social responsibility, and being a good citizen are discussed with the kids in here which is a huge bonus. The classes go at the right speed that doesn't intimidate or burn out my sons and encourages them while learning. There are advanced students here who probably compete or are looking to do that. My sons are athletic but not on the aggressive side and this dojo is perfect for them and all types of kids looking to learn and excel in this sport. Because of this, I do see my sons staying for the long run. We are in no rush to get belt stripes or compete - we want our boys to continue at their pace and be excited to go to class. If you're looking into martial arts for your kids, I highly recommend you give this place a try!
