Unmissable if you're wandering around Llangollen, is this bright and modern gallery space exhibiting art, ceramics and jewellery with a handy bookshop and an excellent and comprehensive tourist information area attached. With full disabled-access, and no admission charge, the scope of artworks on display (changing regularly on rotation) is extraordinary; both for the variety of styles and techniques on display ranging from traditional to 'out-there' and for its sheer consistency of quality and professionalism. This is a regional gallery, true, but some of the work I've seen in here ranks on a par with anything in the UK. These are not amateurish daubs. The nice touch, is that if you see something you really like (and you probably will) there's a scheme in place for you to pay the balance off, via part-payments, over time. Just ask at the central main desk, the staff will be more than happy to advise you. Toilets are available at the rear of the gallery. read more
