I have had Comcast without interruption since 1995, and I can count on one hand the amount of times I have had issues with my service. My reception has always been great for the most part, and I really have no major complaints. I would say 19 years and about 3 problems is not bad. You have to expect to have issues at some point, but nothing major that hasn't been resolved promptly. We have had the internet and phone service about 7 years now as well, and without no major problems. I rent my wireless modem from Comcast, and only once I was without service for half a day. I spoke to technical support, who diagnosed my problem, and had me take the modem in the same day to have it replaced at no charge to me. The lady at the store even upgraded my modem for no additional charge. I had AT&T before switching my phone service to Comcast, and I switched to take advantage of a package deal that has saved me a lot of money over the years. I have read that people have problems contacting Comcast, but that hasn't been the case for me at all. Every time I call I'm usually on the phone with an actual person with 3 minutes. Customer service has always been good, and I personally have never experienced poor customer service or unprofessional behavior when I am on the phone with them. I have no issue and highly recommend them to people when they ask. Maybe I'm just lucky, but I enjoy my service and plan on staying with them for another 19 years. read more

Heads up to those going for an online deal through xfinity: DO NOT let them funnel you to telephone or chat services to "finish your signup." Economy Plus is set to be $19.99 for 6 months, $29.99 for 7-12 months, then regular cost. They completely bypassed the $29.99 months for me, claiming that since it was "set up over the phone" I was ineligible for the deal. It's bad enough you have to read the fine print to realize $19.99/mo for a year is a lie (which I had going into it and was expecting the rise after 6 months) but this was ridiculous. Comcast is horrible!!! I had one modem because that is all you can have but some how I was being charged for 3 for over a year. I work from home and need internet its my lively hood the rep and me counted all the days the net went down at my place. My internet was down no joke a total of 3 months of down time over the course of a year with all the outages a rep there tried to give me a $50 credit ha!! so after calling and speaking to 3 different managers I finally got a total credit of $300 but I only got $150 at first of that $300 and had to call in several more timed to see why I didn't get my $300 I was promised...it only took 3 months all while service kept dropping and I'm paying for 105mbps and getting max 45 when it does work. Also there is a 300GB limit and once you're over that which I was because again I work from home as well as my roommate I was never told to change to business internet so I got a bill over 1k one month....needless to say the next day after that I switched to AT&T...who is really slow but better customer service. Last thing you can't believe the billing system every month I'd pay what it said on the site I owed and mobile app to a zero balance a day or two later I had reps saying I owed even more than that and they couldn't even explain how or why and that they never see on their end where it was zeroed out.....I wish we had charter in this area I loved them read more

Xfinity have a good interface, but their service is awful. We moved to a new area and told Xfinity we were moving and wanted to transfer our service to the new house. They said they did not offer service in our new area so they would waive the early termination fee. When we moved into our new house we were sent a bill for an early termination fee. We called them up and Xfinity said they have no record of our earlier communication. It is extremely frustrating that they did not keep a record of the call and we got punished. We will NEVER use them again. read more

So in 4 months I've had 3 technicians to my house, a dozen calls to complain, and still have terrible high speed internet at my house. If i could give them 0 stars I would. I find this company very misleading. When I first got xfinity I only got the internet service because I did not need the cable. I then received a call about a promotion where I was offered basic cable, HBO, and streampix for $45/ mo. compared to my $40/ mo. for just internet. I asked several questions and was told that basic cable included all the channels that I would get if I didn't have cable (in my area you can get about 60 channels without a cable box), and that i could watch all of the stations online through the xfinity tv go. 1) I have never been able to access streampix! It says it is not part of my service 2) I can't watch HBO online because that part is not part of my package when I was told it was. I am so done with Xfinity. I'm going to start this review by explaining why this place gets two stars when I would be perfectly content to give it a one. When I moved out of my dorm room at Georgia State during my sophomore year, it was the first time ever I was having to deal with setting up my own utilities and whatnot. When I wanted to set up my internet and basic cable, I did it through comcast (which as everyone knows is pretty much your only choice). I set up the appointment online, and the lady gave me a 4 hour block on a Friday. I believe it was from 11-3. She asked if this would be okay. I said yes, but that I had class until 11:50 on Fridays, so I would not be able to be in my apartment that Friday until 12:15. I asked if this would be a problem because if it would be, I wanted to reschedule. She assured me that there would be no problem, because she would make a note of this and the technician would just come later in the appointment slot. Fantastic. I figured this would not be a problem because EVERYONE told me they never come until the tail end of the 4 hour block anyway, if even during that time. Fast forward to Friday. It's 12:00 and I am about to head onto the elevator in my building to get my keys so I can rush to my apartment to wait for the comcast man. I get a phone call from him saying he's at my apartment to hook up the cable. I am perplexed. I say "I told the lady who made my appointment that I wouldn't be able to be at the apartment until 12:15". He said that they weren't supposed to do that. I was at a loss. I needed the internet to be hooked up at my new place since I was practically finished moving and had an online class. I asked him if he would wait for me, since I was only 7 minutes away. He said he couldn't. I pleaded. He finally said he'd wait 5 minutes for me but that was it. Long story short, he waited ten (which is how long it took me to get to the apartment). He hooked up the internet and cable and made casual (not creepy) conversation with me about school and classes and all that. I was impressed that he waited for me even though he didn't have to. That is the reason for star 2. Everything else about comcast sucks. The 4 hour block for appointments is ridiculous, especially since you're most likely moving and have to basically sit in your mostly empty/mostly packed up apartment for those 4 hours with nothing to do (because hey, you don't have internet yet). I've never had to call a technician to come repair anything, but I've had friends who have, and apparently it's a nightmarish experience as well. They charge a ridiculous amount for basic cable (which I ended up canceling, which in turn caused my internet bill to increase). My internet alone is almost $50 a month, and that is for the basic, slowest possible internet. What I pay every month varies by anywhere from $5 to $10 a month, which is not a huge deal, but it's still annoying because I'm a college kid on a budget. Even more annoying is that I can't figure out why this happens - I pay a fixed rate for internet and modem rental, yet my bill fluctuates by a significant amount. I've only experienced a few outages, but they've all been in excess of 45 minutes, which is a long time if you're working against the clock to get an assignment done. The outages are only made more annoying by the fact that you're paying too much anyway. Just awful. read more

If I could give zero stars, I would. When we moved to our house 3 years ago, Comcast was the only high-speed internet provider in the area. We started out on a 6 month introductory pricing plan for their cable internet and TV. When the six months was up, our bill was set to double, and that was out of our budget, so we called to ask if it was possible to switch to a different plan. We were told that introductory plans are only available to new customers, and that there were no other options but to switch to the high cost plan. So because our budget did not allow for that huge expense, we elected to drop the cable television, but kept the internet because we needed it for school purposes. 3 days later, they called to offer us a lower price option. Too little too late. Which became a theme with them... Anyhow, I declined their offer, and we picked up a netflix account instead, which has served us well. The cable television (for the 6 month period) and the internet connectivity has never been solid. Anytime it rains, the internet goes out. Getting someone out to service it is a huge pain, and half the time they miss the appointments anyhow. And then they give you a hard time when you ask for the credit on your bill for the missed appointment. At one point, I had an appointment scheduled that I took time off of work to be home for, and after two confirmation auto-bot calls, they skipped the appointment claiming that the technician tried to call on his way and I didn't answer. I had no missed calls, and he didn't leave a voicemail. I do have spotty cell service at my house, so I don't deny that he may have tried to call, but it took me a week of arguing with Comcast to get my credit for him skipping the appointment. Had the technician left a voicemail that he was on the way and to return his call if I could not be there, that would have been a different story. But he didn't, and I had already confirmed the appointment twice, so I did push the issue until they credited my bill. Most recently, we signed up for Comcast's new "BLAST" promotion for existing customers. They had already jacked our internet bill up to $65/month, and the blast pass was supposed to be 80 channels for $5 more a month. Turns out 3/4 of those channels are garbage - government programming, home shopping, etc. Nothing noteworthy beyond the local channels. I called them to ask about the next step up, and the price was double what we were currently paying. I declined to bump up, but asked about disconnecting the cable service as the channels weren't worth $5/month. At that time I was told that my internet bill would then increase to about $1/month more than I was paying for internet/cable together (yet another price hike in a matter of months??). Then our bill arrived for the install of the blast pass, and they had charged us to install internet, which we already had - for nearly 3 years with them. Took a long hold time and a couple of explanations of how we already had internet service, and therefore it hadn't been installed again to get that $18 charge removed. At that point, we started researching other options - dish, etc, and found that AT&T U-verse was now available in our area. So we did some research and decided to switch. Prior to shelling out for new service we tried calling Comcast again to negotiate better pricing, but to no avail. We called Comcast after AT&T completed the install to request a shut-off of our system and were told by that rep that they had no idea who I had talked to all those other times that we tried getting better pricing, but that they had lots of options for us. Again - too little too late. We are now signed up with AT&T, and need to disconnect. Had to drive 30 miles to the nearest Comcast facility to drop off the box before they would disconnect the service, and at the facility there were 3 people behind the counter, but only one actually working, so another 30 minutes waiting in line to return the cable box to officially shut off the service. I'm still not convinced we won't keep getting billed, because they have screwed things up on a regular basis. But I suppose we'll see how it goes. read more

Comcast has decent customer service, however my issue was not resolved after getting a new modem, calls/chats over the course of 2 weeks with them, tried everything, my signal continues to drop every 20 minutes on average, I had a technician come out and "FIX THINGS" he did 2 or 3 things that worked for about a day. Soon enough to repeat the same issues. I would not recommend Comcast and will never do business with them again. Every time I call they have the wrong information which I have updated numerous times as well as don't resolve my problems. I need the internet for my work and my service is terrible. I am switching to another provider as soon as possible...also they are all cheaper and provide more channels in their packages. read more

comcast deserves NO stars. I can't believe I went through such poor poor poor customer service from Comcast. We canceled our service with them since their competitors had better deals. They scheduled our modem to be picked up but failed to show up (mind you, nobody called to tell me they weren't coming). The second time it was scheduled, the guy called two hours into the three hour window saying his daughter had to be dropped off to the hospital. As much sympathy as I had for this guy, he should've found another colleague of his to come pick up. He had arranged with me to come pick it up later in the day. In the meantime, I called and emailed Comcast to complain. I was transferred to the subcontractor's office since their recovery department was done through them. The guy answered the phone told me that he'll get somebody else out there ASAP. Somehow, it was still the original guy who called me multiple times to arrange pickup (the pickup time kept changing, because his daughter was in the hospital). Finally, after numerous phone calls, he picked up our modem. Today, I got a call from someone from the "executive office" (whatever that means because it made no difference). She was quite rude. In my email, I had suggested that I needed to be compensated for my wasted time waiting for Comcast employees to come (twice). They have a guarantee which states: "We will schedule appointments at your convenience and be mindful of your time. As a courtesy, we will call you before we arrive at your home. And if we fail to arrive for a scheduled visit during the appointment window, we will credit $20 to your account." http://www.comcast.com/Corporate/Customers/CustomerGuarantee.html I proposed in my complaint email that they compensate me $40 for the twice failure-to-keep-appointment experiences which I had. The lady from the executive office basically told me flat out that there was nothing she can do because we are no longer Comcast customers (even though I had this active bill for this modem which they delayed in picking up) so this guarantee doesn't apply to me. Somehow in the middle of my rant, the call got disconnected. I got hung up on! I call back, and the rep gave me a number to corporate which was the same office the first lady had called from. I spoke to this other guy and he was sympathetic, yadayadayada. He told me he'll look into this and that he'll call me back. He called me back and basically told me that they can't credit me this guarantee since we had canceled our service with them (even though our account was still active with them since we have a credit that's due to us for our returned modem). What's up with that?! Can't keep a guarantee that's listed publicly on its website!!!! Comcast customer service SUCKS. They are horrible, horrible, horrible. Comcast.... What can I say? I've made a call almost everyday since the 16th of March sometimes 3 times in one day, trying to get my internet issues resolved. I've personally done my research on the problem and know exactly where the problem lies. If I personally had the equipment necessary, I would fix the problem my self. I've told your Tier I tech department where the problem was at, but of course, I don't have one of those pretty little Comcast ID numbers so you blow me off like a fool and tell me I'm wrong. To no avail, you send me a Tech who has no Idea what he's doing just to say "I resent a signal to your router you're good to go!" No. I'm not. I have repeatedly told your Tier I & Tier II tech support the problem isn't a matter of sending a signal to my router and restarting it, that you have damaged lines in this area that need to be fixed, but of course, I'm a customer, not an employee so I "Don't know what I'm talking about" and again you send me a signal and reset my router for no reason, just to say you did something. This has gotten old. This goes on, and on, and on up until last night when I demanded to speak with someone who knows what they may be doing. With my own research & knowledge, I spoke to a tech last night, who sincerely knew what they were doing, and listened to what I had to say, and told me that I was 100% correct from the beginning. I requested they tell me the uSNR (united Signal to Noise Ratio) readings for the Woodstock are last night and this is what I was told. "Wow Mr. Jordan, you are absolutely correct. 13% of the Woodstock area is experiencing a 3-10% decrease in signal drops at all times. There is definitely an issue here that needs to be resolved. I'm sending two techs out to your area. An area tech support, and a home tech support to work on this problem. The fact that others around you are experiencing the same thing, definitely means there is a problem with our lines in that area". There's just one problem though. They aren't sending a tech out at all until June 6th, to evaluate the situation because it's not considered emergent. I chuckle at this. 13% of the people in Woodstock are experiencing horrible signal drops, and this situation isn't considered emergent? Oh yea, that's right. I don't have Comcast Business. I feel sorry for you Comcast now, more that I am mad. You do have a few employees who care, or help, but by the time it gets down the chain of command the more horrible your service get and the less people care. And unless I have a business account, you really don't care. I understand business. You appease the people who pay you more over a period of time. I get it. But the fact is 13% of Woodstock is a lot more that any one business account you have. I would consider that emergent. Honestly, if I get enough comment, reviews, or likes on this post, I may just take this up to Comcast my self, apply, do the best I can to move up in the business, and fire everyone and start anew. The fact that the CEO himself of Comcast doesn't care and doesn't deem the US to have any issues with internet would be the hardest battle to fight. But if I made it that far in life. Idiots. I told them I was switching from cable to Dish Network, but wanted to keep my Xfinity/Comcast high-speed internet on. They discontinued BOTH services....then I called them and told them they were supposed to only disconnect my cable. I'm only interested in MOVIES and Dish offered me a better HBO/Showtime/Cinemax package, but am perfectly happy with my present I.S.P. They turned BOTH Cable and Internet back on. 8/1/2008 Well this is the usual cable trash. Let out your frustration on a blog. Comcast had me excited about getting their triple play of services until a week before it was to be installed and then my excitement turned into angry frustration (I don't get angry). I called a week prior to my install just to be sure the service level and month fee was still exactly what I ordered. Of course it wasn't. It had taken me 5 calls with different people to get back to the deal I was originally sold. They were able to install the almost all of the triple services, except for phone. This will take another 20 days b/c I wanted to keep the same phone number. Installer missed the 4 hour window, so Comcast gave me a $20 credit. Once it was installed the picture was great, great high speed internet access, but no phone. I tuned to channel 59 HGTV on a TV without a box and there was a blue screen. Called back Comcast said someone would be out on 7/31 between 11-2, no one showed. Called they credited me $25 for a missed service call. Rescheduled for 8/1, 11-2. Around noon the tech calls to ask me what type of problem I am having. Told him the issue of not getting channel 59, he said you won't get that channel without a box. Why? You need a box for $5.99 a month. How underhanded. My next call was to the call center demanding to speak with a supervisor. This person was well groomed in handling angry customers (I don't get angry, it's TV for god sake). He handled me with a calm understanding voice, but held true to the fact that I was screwed without a $5.99 a month box. Comcast did not want to spend the money to upgrade the system in order to pump HDTV and VOD to customers home, so they took away 3 of Americas hottest channels (HGTV, Travel and Oxygen, ok maybe 2 of the hottest channels). Point being that the customer has to spend more money to get channels that everyone else in the US gets without paying for a box. The supervisor was remained calm as I went through my rant. He offered me 6 months free for a box. After pleading my case for not accepting his offer I took it. Draw your own opinions about Comcast lack of service. Mine is 5 stars for being reactive in a positive way. Just think what Comcast would be like if they we proactive towards internal communication and customer care. No shows by "technicians", who, when they can be bothered to show up, rarely have any idea how to set anything up properly. Dear Other Internet Service Providers (not you, Xfinity/Comcast): Please help Atlanta. Comcast/Xfinity has a horrible monopoly and expects us to pay for a service that they do not deliver. Everyone wants another option. We get dropped internet at home and at work all the time and there's nothing we can do. Please, for gods sake, expand! The customer service at Xfinity is basically non-existent. The people they have us talk to (I'd call them customer service reps, but the title customer service is not fitting) that provide lip-service and are trained to dodge questions. There was a massive internet outage at work a few months ago. I called their business services line. The woman's reason for service outage was, and I quote: "Atlanta is a big city." It has continued to happen, and they've done the dog and pony dance around the issue. Nothing has changed. It is one of the most painful, dreaded tasks to have to call Xfinity/Comcast regarding their poor service. Or anything really in general. It was even horrible setting up our home service and that is usually the easiest part. It is completely unacceptable to have such a lack of care and customer service, and horrible product delivery. Atlanta deserves your better business models, other service providers, and that you actually have a shred of human decency and business ethics. Comcast is the absolute worst. My standard cable box went out in a second room. They sent me an HD Cable box told them 5 times they sent me wrong box. They sent out a tech who I also told. He installed box and now being billed for HD Service I did not order. I have been on the phone over one week.. constantly get disconnected and then transferred to someone overseas who doesn't get the problem. multiple times I asked to speak with a MGR.. I was told he was with another customer and would call back.. still waiting.. when I get the first chance to drop their service I will and encourage others at Harmony on the Lakes in Canton Ga to do the same. All my neighbors have similar issues.. terrible customer service .. !! I was also told by Tech to take the cable box back to Canton Ga.. only to find out service center is GONE ! read more

I gave it a two because I got a fairly good deal for a year's worth of services from a promotion. I'm comparing it to what I was paying before I moved to Atlanta. The setup was fairly painless and the phone tech (who was specifically for this promotion) was efficient. Having said that, I've experienced Comcast through family and friends and know that they have serious problems, both in service and customer support. In the one month I've been with them, I've had several internet outages, each lasting for several hours. read more

After just getting off another yet another annoying and time consuming customer noservice call I find it necessary to join the masses and eat the Hate Cake this morning. The scoop. We moved out of our loft downtown over two years ago. For at least 5 years I was setup for Automatic Payments going to my credit card. The day that I transferred service to our new home the plane crashed into the mountain. For 30 total months now this is what we do each and every month: 1. We come home from work. 2. Walk the dog and chat. 3. Later we turn on the TV in hopes to watch some Braves or Top Chef. 4. The cable is out again. 5. Call Comcast. 6. They say auto pay is on but not working. 7. "Sir have you setup auto pay?" 8. "Yes you just told me auto pay is activated." 9. "Oh yea, sorry about that. Sorry we do not know what is wrong." 10. "Great! What can I do to give you money immediately when you ask for it?" 11. "Setup auto pay sir" 12. You can imagine what happens next. I have begged and pleaded to give you money easily each and every month. Please take it you are driving me crazy! Do they think I REALLY want to talk to them monthly? I will say the gentlemen on the phone said this is a new year and he is going to try and help. Oh, and by the way, gradually changing your name from Comcast to Xfinity isn't fooling anyone. I recently moved from one house to another only about a mile away. Miraculously, the promotion that I was getting a the old house ended exactly when I moved to my new location. I spent over an hour on the phone with the customer no-service rep and then his supervisor to get put on a promotion that was similar to the last one. I was not asking for any more or less than what I had before. Both the rep and the supervisor were extremely argumentative. Comcast also billed me a tech visit and a "2 product install" even though all the technician did was hook up the cable at the street to my home. He did not install anything. I hooked up my own TV and cable modem. $80 for them to do basically nothing!!! read more

What a joke! Nothing but problems. No communication between departments. Orderd service over the phone, they showed up with the wrong equipment, couldn't install because the apartment had been wired up wrong initially. Then they changed the package and tried charging me full price because now I was an existing customer. I fired them and went with dish, best decision I ever made. read more
