First-Hand Experience: More info about my personal experience at this facility - I used to play here! Once or twice anyway. Our teams would rent this facility out just for a treat. It was expensive but it was where England trained and that made it very exciting for us. This is back when they were actually good, after the 1990 World Cup. And then later after Euro 96. Those were the days. It's been a long long long long time since I was at Bisham Abbey. I played here in a soccer tournament thingy with my Dad, what seems like decades ago. The facilities were some of the best I ever experienced. It was (then) where England used to practice. I'm talking about the England national soccer (footy) team of course. I have no idea if they still do, but it's a good memory, nevertheless. I'm not sure how the facilities compare to the newer places which I have never been to.

So Bisham Abbey is one of the original national sport centres. It is set in picturesque town of…read moreMarlow just off the M4. The venue is home to many of GB sports governing bodies, Hockey, Judo EIS and so the list goes on. They have a good range of sporting facilities on site including football and hockey pitches, squash courts, tennis courts and state of the art gym facilities. You get many international athletes on site both able bodied and disabled, so there is a great mix of people from all sporting disciplines. The facilities are open to the general public, but I think you have to sign up and become a member to use them. They have on site hotel facilities, which puts some hotels to shame!! Not only can you participate in many sporting activities as the name suggests there is more to the place than just a sporting venue. The old Abbey is available for hire for weddings and business events. The rumour is that the great hall is actually haunted... I would have given it 4 stars but the wifi was very poor and in the day and age we live in that it was poor

First-Hand Experience: I've seen Wycombe play once at home and probably 3 times away (at Oxford), and they were always amazing fans and a team to be really proud of. Such a small town club but they really punched above their weight and did so well to get to the point where they are now. The last time I saw them live was in the 00s. They are the second main rival of my hometown team, so I have a predisposition to dislike them, but I can't dislike them since they've always seemed kind of sort of somewhat harmless. They play in blue at the rather grand looking Adams Park, which holds 10k but looks like it holds more, and they were founded way back in 87. That's 1887 by the way. They are owned by the fans which is a HUGE plus. They're currently langushing low down in League Two, but I certainly hope they'll climb back up where they belong soon. They are known as the Family Club Of The Year and often win that award. It's a lovely stadium to watch football at. The club foolishly refused to be promoted after winning their league for 7 years running in the 70s, because they were worried about transportation costs. They finally accepted promotion and appointed Martin O'Neill, and suddenly rushed up through the divisions faster than a random guy finishing doing the wild thing with my gf. O'Neill won them the FA Trophy, lost out on a league promotion on goal difference to Colchester (boo), then did the non league double the following season beating Runcorn in the final of the cup. O'Neill left them all the way up in League One after a play off win over Preston, and they've been in the League ever since, although they did get relegated back down a place. They also made it to the FA Cup Semis and lost there to eventual winners Liverpool. They avoided relegation back to the Conference on the final day in 2013, on goal difference. They're a really great club, owned by the fans, with a lot of fun recent history. A real fairy tale story. What's with the other review? Lol.

This place is a proper football club. Yes, the team is not very good - granted. But there is some…read morehistory and community spirituality. It's a decent pitch in a pretty location which is is easy to reach. There's a big car park.
