I love this place. There are two train station eateries I love - - one being the Gosch fish place in Hamburg Hbf for the marinated matjes herring - - but the 'Haxe' at Wurst Bazar is something I dream of, and if I'm connecting trains in Hannover I make sure there is plenty of connecting time so I can pick up a Haxe. It is cheap. It has so much crispy pork surrounding it, that you crunch into it for 20 minutes, and then still have another 30 minutes of succulent meat there on the bone. And it is such a well designed piece of meat for travel purposes, with the handy handle and all. Crispy pork like this you normally can only get by ordering an Eisbein for 15 Euro plus in restaurants, or at authentic Chinese roast pork/duck places, that are few and far between in central Europe - - and here you get more of a meal than you can ever finish (I usually save most of it for later) for a few Euro. read more
