Where would my bank account be? You caused a deep paradigm shift in several aspects of my life -- some for the better, some for the worse, some muddled somewhere inbetween. You were a rich, rich experience, & 2.5 years very well spent.

Each show has something completely new to offer. Yeah sometimes you get (dead air) "um....." (dead air). But for now, 96.7 is one of those stations I seem to find most everywhere - Jack FM, Bob FM and Frank FM among others - that play a rotation of 80's 90's and more recent hits around the clock. No requests, no DJ, it's just music and the occasional blast of commercials. I was only passing through Columbia and in range of this station for about two hours but in that time I got some great classic rock including R.E.M, the Beastie Boys and even some Eurythmics. Great tunes and a nice way to pass a few miles of I-77 and I-26 as you pass through the Columbia area.

I like the no live dj but the pre recordings about Steve are just plain annoying and unfunny period. Since I've ditched my satellite radio I have been more prone to listen to 92.1 the palm as it features some local musicians and info about what's going on in Columbia and the surrounding area. No Steve FM for me !

But I found local musicians and some other artist like Edward Sharpe and The Avett brothers playing throughout the day. In short this is the only station I can stand unless Columbia decides to bring back an oldies station that mixes it up too.

Keep in mind she filed it with police 48 hours or more after and apparently felt safe enough to immediately return to work the same day within hours. The camera crews had to wait for several hours to get a shot of our empty street to use in the drive by shooting incident narrative they let hang on this site. A few minutes with an actual witness to the incident a military veteran confirmed there was an old box van and either there was a large caliber sawed off shot gun or the truck she had seen had backfired. Considering the years of military experience, the lack of holes in anything, and if a drive by the reporting citizens devotion to work overriding her concern for community by not calling the cops immediately, I am going to have to say this station doesn't do journalism their ratings chasers and narrative pushers and to ignore anything else they put out because they investigate nothing. You can look at a police blotter report and get more accurate news.

I started out writing music & movie reviews in 1998, dabbled in a few news stories (mostly puff-pieces), & wound up a columnist for the Viewpoints section, where I discovered that I had a vast array of Opinions, Dammit! I had Beliefs! Although this was a fact I hadn't realized until my buddy Kenley -- the editor at the time -- installed me as the assistant section editor. For example: Frat Boys? I didn't really care for them. Honors Kids? They got some perks that the rest of us didn't get, & it wasn't cool in my opinion. Athletes? Dumb Freeloaders, the whole lot. George Bush & Al Gore? I wasn't impressed with either of them, & I even threw my hat into the ring in the '00 election, though the wheels came off once Cameron Diaz never answered my letter requesting that she be my first lady. Hell, I even invented a fake boy band consisting of myself & five other friends on staff. We called ourselves The Hi-Notes. Basically, half my readers thought I was a dumb jerk, & the other half thought I was a funny jerk. The truth was actually neither. I was pretty shy -- it was an alter ego, well, the jerkiness was, but I did become a little more outspoken because of it, & I credit my days as a columnist for my penchant for occasional showmanship. Basically, it was the perfect outlet for a nerd in denial (i.e. me).
