A few words about the Fontanna in Wroclaw.
From the main square, it is about a 15 minute tram ride away , and then you'll reach Hala Sulecia. Apparently the night we were there (29-08-2015), there was a food truck festival, as there were plenty of stands with beer and food.
The guy at the tourist office has guaranteed us the show at 22 (that's 10 pm for our American friends) was the best. We just caught the 21 o'clock show and it was very short (9 minutes). The music was poppy, meaning Beyonce and dubstep. The show stopped very suddenly as well and it got largely ignored by most people (nobody applauded).
So then we ended up waiting for an hour. At around 21:45 people starting getting around the pond to catch the show, and as the ground is flat, you can't see anything if there are two people in front of you (especially since everybody is trying out the camera on their new phone, shooting videos they will never watch). Finally we ended up seeing the show on the phone of the guy in front of us.
The music that we could hear was pretty nice (King Arthur!), but it was not loud enough to get fully involved, as there were plenty of people talking through the show. What was cool that there was one fountain that had a projection on it, but this could have been exploited further. All in all from what we could see the show was well made indeed and I want to thank the people that coordinated the fountains and the light show with the music.
Then, a final note on the logistics of this event: HORRIBLE. When 5000 people see an event and want to go home afterwards, you have to organize how they are gonna get there. 3000 of them wanted to take a tram, but these never stopped, as they were already full. Most taxis were booked as well. Finally, after half an hour we managed to flag one down and join the traffic jam on our way home. read more
