Their quote, plus their high reviews made them the logical choice, and we have no regrets. From the person who did the site inspection, Jose, to the installers, everyone seemed very friendly, respectful of our property/wishes, and it was clear they were experienced and knew what they were doing. Being up against a deadline, we really couldn't afford to fail the city inspection, and we passed easily. Thanks to the salesman Mark Howe for his direction, & to Henry Melling for a great design and implementation. We were not excited at the idea of having all that stuff on the side of our house, but honestly, the installation was so neatly done, with a few plants added over there, I'm sure we can acclimate. The battery placement in the garage was genius -- up and out of our way! Everything is functioning as it should, and we wouldn't hesitate to recommend California Solar & Electric. THANKS to them for a job well done, and ON TIME!! We couldn't be happier.

I'm giving this project 5 star review because I think it is the best company to go with for quality…read moreand a competitive cost. If you go with this company, 100% ask for Mason to be your sales rep. Avoid Eddie at all costs as he won't respond to you after you sign your agreement...Because of this, Management actually switched my contact person to Mason, and I am forever grateful for that. Mason is attentive and he was the best with responding to questions and concerns. And when I had concerns about delays in my project, I would email him and it would be fixed right away. The solar industry is one where many people have a lot of questions, uncertainty in effectiveness, and aren't sure if it's right for them. And people in general don't trust solar companies and sales people. It takes time to complete a solar project from contract to actually generating electricity for the home. For me, I decided to go with solar because the 30% tax credit was ending (and now that I actually see results, it's worth it even without the tax credit). However, since I was in a tight window to get everything completed before December 31st, I was very nervous as to if the project would be done on time. if it wasn't for my persistence, and for Mason's help, I don't think it would have been done Before December 31st and I would have been very upset and lost out on the tax credit. So again, GO WITH MASON at Solar Optimum, you won't regret it. If I get another home, I will 100% use this company again, and would 100% ONLY work with Mason. I also added a picture to show how much solar has been generating for me in just over a week in the middle of December (the worst for sunlight). It's right at optimal generation for this time of year and look forward to no more electric bills.

A lot of time passed by without hearing back. Then I was told the solar panels that I had agreed to are no longer available. They replaced them with cheaper options. Later on, they said the replacements were no longer available and switched them again to a cheaper option. I received an email on 10/28/25 saying the solar panels are ready for installation. Then I didn't receive an update until 12/10/25 asking for information that I had already confirmed via phone call, the clearance from solar panels as well as the panels being permitted. Then I received an email on 12/23/25 asking for this confirmation again. I sent a follow up, and did not hear back from Eddie until 12/27/25. He gave me a call and told me that Solar Optimum is unable to complete the installation by the end of the year, making me ineligible for the tax credit. He suggested claiming the system was installed/invoiced in my taxes, which is tax fraud as the tax credit makes it explicitly clear that it needs to be installed and powered by 12/31/25. On Dec 30th, he said he would update me within 2 weeks. 2 weeks elapsed and no update was given. At the end of my experience with Solar Optimum, I was took a loan that was no longer needed which ran my credit which has negative implications for my credit score. I also missed out on thousands in tax credit as well as future long term savings. There was misrepresentation regarding what the company had to offer and so far the company has not offered any option to rectify the situation. Will never do business with this company and strongly advise against using their services. The only option remaining is if they are able to discount the panels by the amount of tax credit I have missed out on, which will be my desired resolution requested.

Awesome costumer service, very professional, top notch work…read more Would recommend 100% Install went so smooth and technicians were very knowledgeable

Loved working with Sol Volta and would choose them again in a heartbeat…read more I had received almost 20 bids, but practically every company I spoke with produced a quote by looking at my property on Google Earth, as opposed to visiting my home in-person to get a realistic idea of what we were working with. I have a flat roof and a small amount of space to work with. It's further complicated by the presence of a AC/heat pump package unit, and there are taller homes/objects around my property that cast shadows. A majority of the folks at other companies I spoke with were in sales, solely interested in selling me on more panels without taking into account city code, setback limitations, environment around my home, etc. Gabriel was the only person to show-up on site. It was a huge relief that the person who was giving me a bid was also the engineer installing the setup. He suggested tilting the panels so I could optimize the amount of solar my home generated, completely offsetting my utility bill with room to spare so I can add an EV next year. While Sol Volta was not the cheapest bid I received, my preference is to get it right the first time, even if that includes spending a bit more upfront. With Gabriel and Sol Volta, I felt like I was in good hands. I had originally planned to add a battery solution later in the future (given it adds significant cost) but I liked Gabriel and Sol Volta so much that I decided to do it now and we went with a Powerwall 3 - it's awesome. Cannot recommend these folks enough - they're professional, incredibly knowledgeable, and kept me in the loop at all times. Thank you, Sol Volta!

What appeared to be a way to have a lower electric bill monthly compared to our Level pay plan we had with Southern California Edison(SCE). We were repeatdley sold on how this would be great investment for us with being more green and also that with increasing power costs the solar would be more affordable in the long run. It all sounded very good and doing it was only really going to save us $10.00 per month versus our current SCE level pay plan monthly amount. We told our two sales reps over and over it seemed like a good idea as long as we didn't have to pay to bills and have set lease price and also a bill to SCE. We ASKED THIS OVER AND OVER AGAIN. We were assured that the system would be designed to cover the monthly kilowatt average we used and that best case we would be sending energy back to SCE as long as we didn't increase our energy usage. Well here we are 9 months into the solar lease and we risk owing SCE several hundred dollars because we were sold a system that does not cover our monthly average KWH usage. Plus this is happening when we are using 62% less energy on average than we were a year ago. When I questioned with USP why the system was not generating the average KWH we were assured to meet our monthly average we were told to send them our power bills and they came back and said we were using more energy and that is why we were having to basically pay 2 bills. I immediately logged on to SCE and also spoke with them and it shows our household using 62% less so their math was way off. When I asked them about this I was told by their sales representative "I completely ignored the information we provided you" I would say they completely ignored us with our request that we didn't want to have a BILL to solar and SCE. During their sales pitch USP even called SCE from our house and took down the monthly averages when we signed up. We told them repeatedly we did not want to have a bill to Edison and SOLAR as well. They assured us this would not be the case. My warning to consumers is to be careful when looking at leasing Solar from these companies because I learned to late that they are very shady and only about getting to lock you into a lease and have no vested interest in their service after they have installed it. I have only asked to have my system upgraded to at least cover my average KWH usage so we will generating more KWH from the system that we are using on average from SCE. USP has not returned an email going on three weeks now. Shame they say they are Family owned which made me think they would care but is is obvious they are just out to make a quick buck and then not address it when they have made a mistake or miscalculated what their systems can generate. SCE may be raising rates but at least they are transparent in their rates and product. I would encourage anyone approached by USP to think twice before using their service.

Has a professional installation crew and executes flawlessly and everything stays on track. Incredible follow-up and will not try to upsell you like other installers. If you're looking to install solar, you should absolutely go with OneSun. Give Rose a call to at least get a consultation and I'm sure your interaction will immediately stand out from other installers. Installing solar is something I kept putting off. When I found out that the tax credit would be going away at the end of 2025, I realized I couldn't put it off any longer. One of the reasons I kept waiting was how annoying solar reps were. Clearly just sales guys who didn't actually know anything about the equipment, technology, and process. I did a bit of research on local installers and OneSun came up a few times, all with nothing but great things to say and especially highlighted the installer's knowledge and patience. Before reaching out to OneSun, I informed myself as much as I could to the point that I knew what panels I wanted, size system, even what inverters I wanted installed. My first phone call with Rose immediately proved that all of the positive feedback I had read was for a reason. She took the time to actually listen to the specifics of my project, what I was looking for, and what questions I still had based on my research. She took the time to answer every question and even went into the technical details that I was interested in. It was clear that she was extremely familiar with not just the logistics, but also exactly how a solar system works as well as the technical details of all of the components in a system. She had my business after that first meeting but of course I still did my due diligence and got a quote from one other local installer which also had similar reviews. Although the sales rep was very nice, it was clear that he was just a sales rep and only reinforced why OneSun was the installer to go with. OneSun's pricing happened to be better but even if the other installer would have come in at a cheaper quote, I would have still chosen OneSun for the install. Rose started the permit process in July and made sure that everything stayed on track, especially since I wanted to make sure that the system be on before the end of the year in order to qualify for the tax credit. The timelines she provided were right on point and the install was scheduled for September. About a week before the install date, there was an unexpected problem. The panels that were originally planned for my install had gone completely out of stock. There had been some kind of manufacturing issue and those panel would not be coming back in stock for another couple of months which could push the project out to the following year. Rose let me know she could acquire slightly larger panels for the project and install it on schedule. I was about to ask what the additional cost for the larger panels would be, but before I was able to, she let me know that there would be no additional cost to me. I'm sure any other installer would have used the situation as leverage to add additional cost to the project. A testament to Rose's commitment to her customers. On installation day, the crew was professional and efficient. They completed everything in one day and made sure to keep everything as clean and organized as possible. Towards the end of the install, I had noticed that they ran one of the grounding wires out from the attic and down the face of the house where I had planned on completing another project in the near future. I knew that the wire would need to be redirected if it was left there so I asked the foreman if he could run it through a different path. Initially he felt like it would not be possible given the layout. I reached out to Rose just to make sure and see if she possibly had another solution. About 10 minutes later the foreman showed me another possible option which was much better for what I needed. It may have seemed like a small thing, but that was another instance in which I believe any other installer would have dismissed my request as pickiness and told me there was nothing else they could do. Rose took the time to speak with her foreman and truly assessed the situation to come up with a solution that fit my needs. It took LADWP about 6 weeks to get my meter installed and for my system to be turned on, but it was still well before the end of the year (and yes, I just got my tax refund with that hefty solar tax credit). It's rare to come across someone like Rose who is honest, patient, and who truly has her customer's best interest at heart. Combine that with impeccable execution and communication, and there is no one else I would recommend for a solar install project. In fact, my parents are considering a small project and I've already told them about Rose/OneSun.

When I first contemplated getting solar panels for our house, the entire process looked daunting. I…read moredidn't know anything about the technology or equipment and I felt ill prepared to make any decisions about what our house needed. There are so many companies out there, it's hard to know who to trust. As soon as I did a few online searches, I was flooded with emails and texts from multiple companies with high pressure sales pitches. One company charged me $350 to do a site survey, just to get a quote for the project, then came back with a revised quote adding $7000 to dig a trench for electrical wiring due to "the location" of our electrical panel. I found OneSun on a yelp search and as soon as I spoke with Rose Avakian, I knew my search was over. This company stands out from the others. There was no sales pitch, pressure, or upsell. Rose explained the technology and equipment in a way that made it understandable and approachable. When her team came to look at our place, they found no need to dig a trench and simply connected to our existing electrical panel. Had they needed to dig a trench, the price they quoted was nowhere near $7000.  From start to finish, the entire experience was transparent, seamless, professional and expedient. The attention to detail and care the team put into making sure everything was done right far exceeded my expectations. If you're looking to go solar, look no further than Rose and OneSun. This is truly the best company I've ever worked with!
