You gotta see this it believe it. A giant easel with Van Gogh's painting of sunflowers. Well worth a short detour.

Not much to write home about here. It's a huge easel with an industrial backdrop. The painting atop the easel, which appears to be badly faded, is styled like Van Gogh sunflowers in a vase, which were meant to express gratitude. Any resemblance to the original Van Gogh paintings is purely coincidental.

Art enthusiasts! This is for you! Do you love Van Gogh? Do you love sunflowers? Do you love larger than average art supplies?! DO YOU LOVE GIANT EASELS?! Well I know the place for you! Visit Goodland Kansas for a life altering event. You'll be so moved by this large painting casting it's shadow over the city and making its appearance known. You can pose for as many pictures as you like considering the fact that most other souls are no where in sight. If I am ever in the middle of Kansas again, this is my first stop. I was able to take my time perfecting the perfect instagram shot. This was ideal because I wanted a very specific photograph of me jumping mid air below the painting. Had there been a long line at the attraction, I would have missed out on this opportunity. What a perfect way to spend approximately 3-5 minutes.

The art scene in Goodland Kansas is huge! This roadside attraction really puts you in perspective of your size in the universe. The still life freezes the sunflowers in their vase amongst the changing backdrop of the seasons. Definitely worth visiting Van Gogh's painting too big for a museum to handle. There's no charge for parking and dogs are allowed. read more

The discussion in our group was how does one evaluate this kind of oddball attraction? We based our 4/5 on the fact that it could use some maintenance. It was worth the one time visit just to say we have, plus a chance to add it to our list of quirky roadside attractions. And, why not?! read more

A quirky roadside gem close to the border of Kansas and Colorado! This was the perfect place to take a break, stretch our legs, and admire the giant Van Gogh sunflower painting displayed on an oversized easel. There's plenty of free parking and open space to walk around and relax. A fun and unique stop that's definitely worth a quick visit. read more

It's great site to see if you are around the area. The dog park is not a great idea there are a lot of Pricks on the ground our dogs got them really stuck on their feet. read more

Doesn't require a long visit -- just long enough to get pictures to prove you were here.
