Cherry blossoms painted onto the sidewalk

Wooster Square Park is an excellent, historic public gathering space that often hosts events and festivals for the local community to enjoy! Check out their website for a full calendar of events, because there's pretty much always some cool activity planned!

Me, as i happily discover the cherry blossoms for the first time out on my work out , biking around

Connecticut is one of the finest states in the country, loaded with gems not widely publicized such as quaint seaport town dining experiences, smaller cities thriving with life, historic architecture, and top-notch cuisine. New Haven, Ct being one of them. If you enjoy historic homes and classic New England seasons, Wooster Square Park during its cherry blossom awakening, early spring is a life experience you will not want to miss out on. While out on a regular routine bicycling work out mid-afternoon, I made it over to Wooster Square Park, an area I frequented just about daily. Although on this day it was much different, as I couldn't believe the beautiful white & pastel pinkish colors everywhere, while the classic historic architecture and bright blue sky maintained the backdrop. Unreal! As this was my first experience with cherry blossoms, it was like entering a paradise with white snow petals everywhere. So surreal it was almost cartoon-like in nature and like being in a painting. The peak of the cherry blossom awakening only lasts a few days, so make sure to catch it quickly, if you are looking for the experience. I made sure to go each day until they completely faded out. As I wanted to take in each moment of their life as much as I could. I am impressed with the New Haven, East Rock, Westville areas of CT, my short visit for just shy of a year ( due to Covid-19) was fantastic, glad I was able to enjoy the experience. I am a CT native and was not aware of the cherry blossoms until recently. Overall the entire season change was amazing for me, especially because I was a Hawaiin resident for over 5 years therefore the season changes were completely outer dimensional with the cherry blossoms and signature New England historic architecture to top off the drastic colorful reality shifts. Mindblowing! (This experience took place in early April 2020. I am just now writing the review ) I really hope anyone that enjoys nature and classic New England feels will make it to the cherry blossoms as it is an amazing lifetime experience.

Even in the cold and snow, this is my favorite place to walk. Looking forward to Cherry Blossom season but I have to admit, even in the winter there is so much beauty in Wooster Square.

Five stars for Wooster Square park in the springtime! A must visit when the cherry blossom flowers are present. The park becomes a magnificent wonderland when these clouds of magical pink and white blossoms grace the limbs of the trees throughout this quaint, pretty park. Perfect for photo taking or having a picnic. Family friendly. Street parking; sometimes hard to find a spot on a busy day. Located close to several restaurants, pastry shops, and a coffee shop. A nice afternoon outing for the spring.

Pretty calm and scenic. Just like the green in downtown New Haven but with much less urban campers.

Such an absolutely gorgeous park that I found by accident. I was looking for something to do to get…read morein my evening cardio, and drove across a bridge that had a beautiful lake below. Made a quick uturn and spent the next two hours enjoying this completely paved and awesome park. There is about a 4-5 mile fully paved path, with mountain biking paths adjacent to it, as well as wooded paths. You'll see VERY friendly swans, geese, and ducks (please don't feed them), plenty of squirrels, and the occasional tiny bird running away from you. The are several grass lined bridges that make you feel like you're inside a fairytale, but be careful as they run very low to the water, and are extremely soft in some places. There are steps at various points that lead you back up to the main road at random points, and at the very end you'll happen upon a cool ass skate park. Lover this park so much and will use it as my walking spot going forward!

I would not recommend this "park". When I first arrived to New Haven I thought I'd explore all the…read moreparks (since I love nature), but this wasn't a good call. I went in winter and not only did it look barren as one might expect, but it felt really sketchy!! Cars with missing license plates, homeless people, etc. It didn't feel like a safe area at all, and I later learned it wasn't. On the way home from this park outside The Little Black store I even literally saw the man who had stolen my amazon packages the day before, in plain sight and not apprehended by police. Very dangerous area.
