Ho-o Raigi (The holy birds) by Sgenji Yoshida and a wall rug from the United Arab Emirates (no drugs, no crimes - simplified expressed). Behind the holy birds there is an old Japanese legend. The two phoenix will only come down to Earth when there is peace on Earth. The carpet is a modern piece of Emirati art combining traditional Arabic calligraphy and modern way of carpet making (traditional Emirati carpets have complete different "prints"). The outstanding quality of the carpet itself as well as the message behind the elaborateness of the calligraphy make it very special.

This means that people with "normal" working hours are still able to deal with their postage needs. MA35 is responsible for issuing the residency permits to foreigners, therefore it is the most unpleasant place you can go to and the most disorganized place as well. BUT this is done by design to make it has hard as possible for foreigner to get service in Vienna. What happened in Wien is completely disappointing. Me and my wife applied for residence permit renewal together and provided all the documents. After two weeks, I received a letter saying that they need a receipt of my payment of the rent to the landlord for last three months. I provided them. Then a letter came to me saying that my contract for the flat is expiring and they need a new contract. Meanwhile my wife got a letter that they need her German certificate and her master degree certificate which we already provided it to them. So, the next day she went in evening (on Thursday they work in evening hours as well) with here documents but they did not let her in because the letter said that she should come from 0800 Uhr in morning. So, there was "from 0800 o'clock" but no end time. That is why my wife went there as was ok with her office. But this authority did not accept the documents and asked her to come in the morning. Next day morning she was there before 08 'o clock and perhaps she was the first one to get the ticket but she had to wait for two hours. So they kept her waiting although she was first coming in. Finally, when she went it, the girl who was dealing with the case said 'O yes, I need your master degree certificate or German language certificate'. She opened my wife's file and saw that both documents were already there. Then she was like "O sorry, somebody thought that these documents were not provided ...bla bla ...bla... and we sent you this letter." Then she asked that they need another document which states that we do not have any credit on our name. And some office in Vienna issues this document for 30 Euros and we have to get it. Meanwhile I will look for this document and I am arranging a new contract for my flat, I want to mention here that people in this public authority are completely unfriendly, not welcoming, tired of their routine work and pissed-off of their monotonic job and they bestow this upon you when you reach there. Although Vienna might be one of the best cities to live according to surveys, but I can assure you that it is the worst when it comes to local authorities such as MA35.

The "Monet to Picasso" exhibit is well-curated and you'll definitely enjoy their collection. The special exhibit they had during my visit was a modern art one, which isn't much my interest but definitely a change from their regular exhibits. Additionally, the museum has staterooms from the old Habsburg days. If you only have time for one small museum in Vienna, this one would be a very good choice.

The Austrian Federal Economic Chamber is one of the most important lobbying parties in Austria…read more When President Leitl took over, approx.. 10 years ago, and reformed the whole Chamber , lots of people were really angry at him. Most things were unnecessary and even harmed our economy. But since two years President Leitl always came up with something that was quite useful and he tried to help the Austrian economy. His latest idea hits the ceiling in a very positive sense!!! He suggested that polticians should get a basic salary, a surplus pay if successful and a deduction if unsuccessful. He even showed a way of measuring and reporting system. Well-thought-out!!! At least one person with own well-working ideas that doesn't betray or steel ideas to boast. This one is really new!!! That could be even applied to managers. Lots of them were highly overpaid and ruined our economy and killed lots of jobs, there was no responsibility for which they got those payments at all!!! Hats off!!!!
