I noticed the other morning that the 2 giggling simps that were on the morning show are gone. This is a vast improvement as it seemed that they were there just to laugh at their own lame jokes. Instead of replacing them with someone that can actually run a decent morning drive show they have all music, with breaks featuring their usual nasally toned newsreader, along with recorded Fox Sports news.
The best thing I have heard on K-Rock is the Sunday morning New Wave show with Nina Blackwood (I think that's her name). Obviously syndicated material because it sounds too professionally produced to come out of "the Budweiser Studios" (that's what they call their studio. Nothing like selling out to a beer company).
I really think they could be a good radio station if they wanted to be one. A good example is the ads they are running featuring their Sales Manager begging listeners to buy ad time. He obviously has never written ad copy or produced anything professional, just listen to his weak delivery and the noticeable edits to the commercial cutting out his many screw-ups. As much as I detest all of the Monadnock Radio Group stations, they are professional sounding and the on-air people aren't trying to laugh at lame jokes they just made. read more
