Specialties

We specialize in Wisconsin-grown fresh produce and Wisconsin-made products. Babcock Ice Cream from the UW-Madison is served daily and a menu of sandwiches, pizzas and salads are made to order. In spring, Wisconsin Territories sells bedding plants, herb plants and vegetable starts, as well as hanging bags and baskets - all grown on-site. In fall, the market features autumnal decorations including pumpkins, squash, gourds and garden mums.

History

Established in 2000.

After selling at farmers' markets around the state and operating a small produce stand for 3 years, Mark and Kate Zdroik built a market at the intersection of Hwys. 49 and 66 just east of Rosholt. There, Mark and Kate were able to add a greenhouse and kitchen, as well as an ice cream counter. The market has operated from May to October every year since then, despite the loss of Mark to a brain tumor in 2006. The design of the building has perfectly suited the friendly, down home atmosphere that customers have come to love as they sit on the porch eating sandwiches or ice cream and visiting with friends and family.

Meet the Business Owner: Kate Z.

Originally from Fond du Lac, Wisconsin, Kate moved to Rosholt after meeting her husband-to-be, Mark. Mark was originally from this small town and was ready to move back from Milwaukee. Kate reluctantly left her new home in Colorado and the couple married in 1995 and settled in Rosholt. Following in the footsteps of Mark's father, the couple entered the fresh produce business. The business morphed from primarily selling "on the road" at farmers' markets to a permanent on-site farm market just outside Rosholt. Kate has operated the business for over 20 years, first with Mark and then alone when he passed away in 2006. Rosholt is now her home and she has worked hard to contribute to improving the local community and business atmosphere in Rosholt.
