Still one of my favorite spots in Guadalajara after two trips to this magical city. From the…read moreabundance of tables and the wonderful food, to the affordable drinks, Cerveceria Morelos is right up my alley.
On this trip with a total of six of us we decided to jump into the Cantaritos de Amatitan, which is a staple in Jalisco. What is it? The simple answer to that is: it's the best worst idea you've ever had. With loads of fresh fruit, a few large bottles of Squirt, shovels full of ice, and an entire bottle of Tequila, this drink is made for sharing. If you intend on drinking this on your own I'll happily attend your funeral. Think of this drink as a Mexican punch bowl, similar to (but much bigger) that you'd find at your favorite tiki bar - it's a delicious monster!
My other favorite part of this place is something I had been dreaming about since my first visit... the ribs. Not smoked, not grill, not BBQ, but truly delicious. They fall off the bone and are lathered with a spicy Mexican-style BBQ sauce, which is epic! I could absolutely eat an entire slab of these suckers but in order to not be shamed by my social circle I'll stick to one (or two) orders of the tapas style portion.
Find your way to this part of town and jump in for a few drinks and if it's not your cup of tea there's certainly something very close that will be!
