I was awed before setting foot into this new Winestore location in Cornelius. The corner location is well lit with many windows that call your attention esp. at night. Upon entering, you won't be overwhelmed with "wine everywhere." Don't get me wrong, there are myriad selections available but the layout of the store renders a welcoming feel that invites you in before overpowering you with the selections. The tasting area allows you to select your size (a taste, half glass, full glass). As you experience your wine tasting, you can peruse the wine selections categorized by white and red, then by preferences (light, medium, full-bodied). The setup is great. Ian and Anna will provide great assistance. If there is something you can't find in the store, don't hesitate to ask. The store is open and airy and for me, the only thing missing are comfy lounging chairs. read more

Fabulous experience with this store! I emailed the company back in May about a wine I had at a restaurant that became my new favorite wine! Unfortunately at the time another store responded back sooner than the Wine Store. I went with the other store and after I had ordered, I heard back from the Wine Store, who was better priced. I was now ready to restock for myself and a party I have coming up! While the store I originally went with was great, when you are buying a half of a case, the savings add up! I was able to contact them on Wednesday to have my wine for pick up at this store location by this morning! Great process to go right in, pick up the wine, and head out a minute later! I had been waiting a long time for great wines to be delivered to my door...and finally....I have a Winestore within minutes of home! The new Winestore is as great as the other two stores...except twice the size! It is laid out very well. It is not overwhelming with wines all of the place. It is very open, extremely well lit and has the great wine carousel for tasting. The new stating carousel is high tech and offers 3 (yes three) different pour selections from 1 ounce up to 3 per pour. And the manager, who moved from the South Park store is still providing 100% great recommendations on super wines!!! read more

My wife and I LOVE coming here. We always get top knotch advice on wine pairings and have never had a suggested wine that we did not like. Their idea is not around selling the most expensive wines, its about finding an affordable $10-15 bottle (or bottles!) that taste like $40. Check out their tasting schedule. You can do some side by side taste comparisons with some higher dollar wines. And get the little card to try the other wines on the carousel. Sure, you are paying for the pour, but they are fairly generous. We go there to pre-game date night! read more

Winestore is a must for all wine lovers. They have a self service wine tasting machine that contains 16 red wines and a cooled tasting machine that contains about 9 chilled white wines so you can try before you buy! They have free tastings every Thursday night and fun themed tastings every Saturday, all day, for a nominal fee. The staff is phenomenal--all extremely friendly, knowledgeable and very passionate about wine. And the best part--their prices can't be beat!! I highly recommend! read more

After reading a few Yelp reviews of WINESTORE I was eager to take a look. Off to their Cornelius location we went and was very pleasantly SURPRISED: Spacious and clutter free. Very well organized and PLEASING to the eyes AND & wine palate. Winestore scored well w/ its location and inviting look. The truest test however would be if they either stocked the brand of Moscato we'd been iso of for 3 months. If not . . . at least offer to order it. A miss with having our wine IN STOCK but a TOTAL SCORE BY OFFERING TO PLACE AN ORDER WITH THEIR SUPPLIER!!! YESSSS!!! A payment card swipe & biz card exchange and we were set! Ian called us the NEXT DAY to advise he'd secured 6 bottles. We picked up our long sought after 1/2 dozen vino 2 days later. Note: The regular price per bottle is $13 / special order $15. Great prices and selection. They also have a small cooler in the front of the store with a selection of beers and chilled wine. The beers are either from local brewiers or speciality/unique seasonal flavors. I have tried a lot of great beers for the first time from this cooler and it is always exciting to see what is available. read more

My first time here with my wife. Was happy to see that the had a free tasting as well as pay for tastings. There is a huge selection of wines to taste. Additionally, the prices are as good as they get. This is really the reason why I am giving this place five stars - the prices are pretty much unbeatable. I was in the area and I needed to pick out a sweet wine for a girls night. I know NOTHING about wine. Going into the store was refreshing. Everything is so organized and everyone is so knowledgeable. I went asking for a sweet wine and then a fun wine. They showed me different options and then they explained the difference between the two. They explained what was in each one and what pairs well with it. As a notice wine drinker it was refreshing to actually learn something. And they never talked down to me. They never made me feel less than or weird for not knowing anything about wine. It was extremely welcoming and everyone was so nice. Also they keep a log of all the wine you have bought so if you want to get a specific one you bought a month ago they will have that information. It made wine shopping so easy. I will always come here for wine. I live in Huntersville so this is kind of out of the way but that doesn't matter. They have EVERYTHING you need and could want in this store. If Steve Jobs' passion had been for grapes instead if apples, he would have envisioned a similar store experience, with a minimalist design and wine-tasting carousel for reds that offers three different-sized pours for each, while nearby there's a chilled wall display for whites. All you need do is load up your card first, and you're ready to sample! Ian and Anna are super-friendly and love helping you figure out what wine will taste/work best for you. I have long-struggled to find a wine store I actually enjoyed visiting. The large stores always seemed overflowing with product and impersonal staff, who may or may not know a thing about wine. With the smaller shops, the knowledgeable staff was there, but the stock often was not. Enter the winestore...Great selection, the opportunity to taste the wines, a friendly and well-versed staff, and wines at a range of price points.
