Later we got a tapas selection - some herbed camembert, mozzarella balls, mushrooms, roasted courgette and aubergine, sun dried tomatoes and two fabulous varieties of olives. They would do well to bring in some large planters. The most important thing though: the wine selection is far better than anywhere else we've tried in Poznan, and the wine waiter's advice was better than any we've gotten at any wine store in Poznan - finally someone who understands wine shouldn't taste like sweet cough syrup! There must have been a language barrier, because our waitress seemed to say we couldn't order wine by the glass, that we had to buy a bottle, but that seems unlikely. And at the end of the evening our wine waiter did pour us individual glasses. The starters were ok - some of the cheese on the French and Italian cheese plate was stale, the olives were what you'd expect - but the main courses weren't anywhere near worth the price. The salad was out of proportion - lots and lots of lettuce with not enough of the delicious tidbits you want with each bite - and the halibut was greasy and not at all the light fish dish we were hoping for on a warm night. But, the service was great and the wine really was wonderful, so we'll definitely go back.

Crumb knife or scoop, of course. A brush, yes. Even that manual roller brush device thing. Maybe. Because none of those items is loud enough to interrupt the conversation at the next table. In any case, I did enjoy the cod with sea lettuce and fennel, and the beef sirloin with side of marrow. Unfortunately, my beef marrow, blue cheese and beetroot biscuit, while delicious, became a bit messy after the first bite. I'm not sure why they couldn't show the match and THEN MMA, but sure whatever. I left, and went to a place actually showing the match. Second, a friend and I went in to watch the Champions League final. Now I will actually give them credit - you can see the televisions from probably every table in the place, and the screens are good quality. We didn't sit by the big screen, but rather we had a great view of two other screens. Football everywhere! That said, the place is (and always has been) ridiculously overpriced. Everything in here is even more expensive that anywhere else in town. The cheapest glass of wine is 24 PLN? The cheapest bottle 90? There are loads of wine bars around where you can get much better prices! The beers and cocktails are also overpriced. The food as well is overpriced, again particularly so in comparison to other places in town. Service, when you can get it, is friendly. However, the servers like to spend most of their time chatting with each other either at the food window or behind the bar. Not really the best way to make customers happy!!

I went there for lunch, the restaurant was empty but with the ambient music it wasn't awkward at all. I ordered the beef cheeks and my girlfriend took some pork loin, both were amazing and cooked to perfection. Menu is not very long, I believe only 6-7 dishes but at least these two were very good. For desert, again not much choice, we took the New York Cheesecake and a Chocolate Fondant (with raspberry sauce and chilli). The chocolate fondant was clearly the winner here. The cheesecake was good but the portion felt a bit short and the ice cream had ice bits inside which seemed as if it had melted and been refrozen. With a little upgrade on the ice cream this desert would have improved much more. My girlfriend had wine by the glass, the house wine, which turned out to be very good. They brought the bottle to serve us so you could see it wasn't box wine, as it happens a lot in Poland with house wine. Espresso coffee was fine but a bit on the expensive side, as with every place in Poland. I'm Portuguese so I'm used to much cheaper coffee, so maybe that's my fault and not the restaurant's fault :) Overall a great experience and will return :)
