The restaurant setting is hip and contemporary casual. The food was excellent! A little on the pricier side but well worth it! This time we tried the Chicken Karaage Bau and it was delicious! We also had the Vietnamese salad with beef and the Beef Rendang. The Vietnamese salad was just the right, meeting the Thai requirement of the four tastes - sweet, sour, salty and spicy. The Beef Rendang was really spicy with the right hint of coconut. In all, this certainly made our day.

So I will do something I am not so good at, writing reviews for the restaurants we visit on our journey. We visited here first thing at 6:30 to find they were not quite open yet, so we wandered around the quiet downtown area for 15 minutes. The original person who greeted us was a little cold and standoffish and we were a little concerned, however service the rest of the way was superb. While we were sitting waiting for our food enjoying our hot chocolate a chef wandered in carrying his own knives. It was this moment that we had high hopes for the food and we were not disappointed. I ordered the chicken and chive waffles and they were amazing! The chicken was crunchy on the outside and tender, and juicy on the inside. The sauce was really good as were the waffles. I have had chicken and waffles several times in the south and this for me was better. A different take on the normal chicken and waffles, but it really worked. We were really impressed with the presentation. This was the first restaurant we ate at in New Zealand and have since seen that they take pride in how the food is presented. Most of the presentations have looked like fine dining, but for the same price as a cafe in America. American restaurants could take lessons from their New Zealand counterparts.
