This WinCo location is different from other locations in two noteworthy ways: 1. It is much larger, and has aisles wide enough easy browsing and not getting crowded by other shoppers 2. It is MUCH dirtier. I've never seen so much trash in front of a store in my entire life With that said, though, the rest of the experience is very much signature WinCo, with a wider variety afforded by the much larger footprint. This is a great local grocery store with that "hometown" feeling. During the pandemic, I did not shop indoors...anywhere. And I really missed this store. It is always spotlessly clean, with good lighting, and shelves are always amply stocked. Most of the staff members are friendly and helpful. Don't understand the complaints about long lines. If you arrive during busy hours, there will be lines, like any other grocery store. What sets this store apart is the pricing. While other "mainstream" stores were jacking-up prices (capitalizing on the pandemic and, now, the "tariffs"), Winco made the decision to stabilize prices. Now that I am back shopping at Winco, I will not return to the bigger box stores who are engaging in price gouging. I have always comparison-shopped so I know for a fact that Winco has the lowest prices in our area and their pricing does not fluctuate much. They stock everything I need and the store is laid out so well that it takes very little time to navigate the aisles. I also like that the store is employee-owned and operated. Think Grocery Outlet combined with a store the size of Cost-co with an amazing selection of produce and everything you can imagine. Open 24 hours a day. This store does not take returns on perishable items. I got a sealed bag of imitation crab that was slimy when I immediately opened it. Return counter said no returns on perishables. Funny how Walmart and Costco take them back. If you must shop here I suggest not buying perishables. read more

This store and grounds are dirty and poorly stocked. Employees smoke outside right where customers are walking to the store and there is trash everywhere. Prices are so expensive here now. $9 for a tub of margarine, creamer out of stock for several weeks, meat is ridiculous for average quality and produce is very poor quality that doesn't last. I came in to pick a few item up and apparently a 6 pack of hard lemonade was in different order which I saw it in the cooler as it was and didn't see an issue with it, but apparently a worker did she reached right in my cart and took it away and voided it off my orders while waiting for the register to open. I told the rude women it was fine , but took it away.....brought back a different 6 pack ...on the box the original one I chose had pink and red and purple berries just like the bottles.....I felt like it could have just been left alone rather than make me feel like a fool. read more

I observed the same thing as another reviewer Kal. Some employees are wearing their masks with the nostrils clearly exposed and I've seen them do so with lead clerks around who just let it happen. Seeing this review is claimed, they have got to be aware of those reviews, yet it continues to occur so I'm forced to come to the conclusion that they're rather indifferent towards the health and well being of their customers in their store. In March 2021, a feud between two guests at a Winco location about 10 miles south from this one ended up with one of them shooting the other inside the store which killed the victim. The corporate office issued a press statement "We are grateful that all of our employee owners are safe and unharmed and that the store opened back up to the community this morning for regular business." I guess customer well being isn't a major concern to them. There wasn't even a mention about safety of customers in that and that press statement didn't give me an impression that customer safety is a great concern. read more

This is my favorite Winco in Vancouver, Washington. It is the cleanest and less hood most likely because of the nice neighborhood it is surrounded by. Winco usually has the best prices for groceries. The lines maybe long but the clerks do a great job of keeping it moving fast. read more

When you walk into Winco, don't be fooled by the hanging sign designating the "aerosol cheese" section. There is certainly that type of low-brow fare at Winco, but they also have artisan cheeses near the deli that are to die for! I like to buy my beverages here. Where else can you get a six-pack of Hornsby's for $4.88? That's at least 2 bucks cheaper than anywhere else. The bulk food section is amazing and CHEAP - everything from cereals and spices to nuts, grains and dried fruit. They have a seasonal section where I buy yard and garden supplies for insanely cheap prices. Check them out right after Xmas for expensive foil gift wrap for 10 cents a roll. The produce is hit or miss - I don't recommend any of the greens (which are mostly from Mexico) but the other fruits and veggies are above average and very cheap. It's not the most beautiful produce in the world (apples are small and a little misshapen) but it'll do, if you are on a tight budget. I buy tons of limes and lemons to squeeze and freeze the juice for margaritas in the summer. If you are into locally grown and/or organic food, than this is not the place for you, but if you are on a really tight budget and need the basics, it's worth the drive to stock up at one of your local Wincos. Its winch so as expected, bulk prices, decent selection, the random items like baskets, seasonal items and household or office too. Deli stuff is okay, fried ravioli is good as is the pizza. Feb 2021, peak COVID-19 numbers, and THREE of the bakery employees had their masks pulled down to their chin. They were handling prepared food, interacting with customers, etc. all while not wearing their masks properly, breathing all over everything. I have always loved coming to this Winco on 136th Store #0049 All employees have always been helpful, friendly available if anyone has any questions until tonight. Me and my daughter were doing major shopping tonight we got two carts so that I wouldn't hold up the line and could bag quickly and put it in the first cart the not hold up the line at all, Carlos who was our cashier, very nice as I have always experienced at this Winco. First, suddenly when I went to bag our groceries a older women, a employee at Winco by the of Donna, stepped in front of me and started adjusting the bags, she obviously saw me waiting to bag the groceries while our groceries were piling up on the belt. When Miss Donna finished she walked up to our cashier Carlos and said "I'll take over!" Carlos then said "WHAT...right in the middle of a transaction?" She replied "YES AND IS THIS YOUR WATER??" Then she started forcefully scanning things and tossing them onto the belt when she looked at me and said "so when does your stuff end!" I said "its all together" she replied "GREAT" Very sarcastically! Once my daughter got the rest of our groceries on the belt and moved the cart to the end Donna the cashier looked at her and said "you need to start bagging on the other qside!" My daughter replied " oh we are together" She said YES! I KNOW THAT! YOU STILL NEED TO GO TO THE OTHER SIDE AND START BAGGING YOUR STUFF! I then said to her can you please put our stuff back on our side there is plenty of room. She then started throwing our stuff to the other side of the belt, she missed a few times and a few of our things landed on the floor and next to the register. There was plenty of room to finish our transaction without stacking it on the other side. I worked for, WinCo, very briefly. In my interview, I was told of the high standard WinCo has set for me. I can tell you that I met the standard that WinCo could not. I have an amazing work ethic. Came in on my days off or when needed. I witnessed the "lead clerks", screw off all night while cashiers kept pumping out the food and customers. Management is lazy and pay is low, 12.00 hr. Schedules are never the same. If you are a great worker with amazing customer service skills, don't expect WinCo to meet it's own standard. It is a blatant disrespectful "lead clerk" that screws off openly in front of her hard working co-workers. 136th Ave. Vancouver wa. You know who you are. There are low paying jobs with messed up schedules, uncaring management, screw off crew with intent to monopolize your life, anywhere in the city. You can do better than WinCo by working customer service in another environment. A "lead clerk" should lead by example. This woman is an example of piss poor leadership and management. She is a warm body. Shame on managers like them. People don't leave good jobs, even at low wages. They leave management that has no integrity or ethics. This is my weekly meats and potatoes shopping spot. Great selection of vegetables and fresh meats. They carry their fair share of organic products. I particularly go for the organic: prepackage baby salad, tofu, and soy-milk every time I'm here. Now only if they carried lamb... It's about time I'm writing a review for this place. I've only been part of Yelp since 2007 and shopping at this Winco just as long! Grocery shopping here is just about a weekly adventure for me. I'm not exaggerating either. I have a select few checkers that I go to because they are quick and efficient. They recognize my family and I as well...so much so that they pretty much know what will be in our cart! Also, if one of us are missing, they ask if everything is alright. I guess it's nice of them if you think about it or maybe it's a sign that I grocery shop too much. Items here are a lot cheaper than most other places yet you're getting the same products! The produce is great as long as you're willing to do some digging. The meat selection is pretty decent too. Thank you Winco for giving the Couve an alright place to get some groceries. read more

First time to Winco today. We didn't have them in the state that I moved from. Store was clean and selection was good. Prices were equivalent to walmart or better. You bag your own groceries which is fine with me as I take my own bags. The butcher that helped me was fantastic. Friendly and went out of his way to find the meat I was looking for. My only issue was the guy that checked me out. He was a little bit snippy when I tried to pay with my credit card. He knew it was my first time in the store per our conversation. I had no idea that they only took cash, debit, or checks. There were no signs around the store screaming the fact that credit was not accepted. Luckily I had cash on me. So I will probably go back since the prices were good but if I have too many more employee interactions such as that, I will spend my money elsewhere. read more

This winco is the closest one to my house and in comparison to Fred Meyers or Safeway, the prices are cheap! It is open 24/7, so of course you get some sketchy looking people shopping here late at night. I'm gonna miss this place when I move away because you can't beat the prices at winco! read more

This review is not a criticism of the store which I like. Went there a few days ago and had parked due to crowding away from the center a little with front of car not easily visible. I own a Camry hybrid which is prime target for catalytic converter thieves. When I came out there was a man in his 40's smoking standing next to my car. He started talking while I opened my trunk and stepped away which I put down to politeness. As I opened my trunk I saw out of the corner of my eye a man step away from from my car holding a dark bag with a metal rod sticking out that looked like a tire iron. As soon as I opened my trunk and looked away for a second both men were gone. Neither went into the store and the dark SUV they were near was actually while I looked was driven away by someone else. As Said not a criticism just want people to be aware of what happened and maybe I misread but who carries a tire iron in a bag? Not saying don't shop there just be careful and try to park in crowded areas of the lot perhaps backing in so front is visible. I will still shop but am going to be very careful where I shop and watch out for the smoking lookout. read more
