I don't understand how people can give this store less stars, due to the fact that they went when the store first opened and it was packed...duh, what did you think was going to happen. I shop here all of the time..weekdays, weekends..and now that the "opening" has worn off, I have not suffered from crowds at all. On weekends I get there before 10, and on weekdays, it doesn't seem to matter. The one time you need to be aware of, is the first weekend of the month..that can be a little intense but other than that..shopping has been a breeze. They always have plenty of checkers..I have only had to wait for 2 people at the most to get through the line. I have had great luck with their meat..I have bought everything from deli to prime rib and have never been let down. Their seafood is great..am looking forward to Crab for Christmas. I bought a couple of Fresh Dungeness a couple of weeks ago, and they were some of the best I have ever had. The store is clean, the prices are incredible, the staff always friendly and nice...If I had to I would endure crowds for all of this..but I don't have too, and neither do you!! read more

I am in love with Winco. I am especially in love with the bulk section. But can we all just get together and SHAME the people who stick their fingers in there to sample the sugar and other goods? I saw a girl tasting the rice the other day. Uncooked rice! Really! Another time I saw kids eating the candies and run up to their mom with a handful. I expected a little reprimand but nope, she popped a piece in her mouth, too. Other than that, what is there to complain about? You can't beat these prices and there's no Walmart guilt. I still have to go to the co-op for my Vegenaise and a few other goodies, but there's a much appreciated section near the Asian produce with veg sour cream, "sausage" and soy cheeses... Yay, I can eat healthy for cheap! They even sell vital wheat gluten in the bulk bins so I can make my own fake chicken strips at home. I'm a very happy camper these days. And can I add that I NEVER am behind more than one other customer in line? Other than bagging my own stuff (which I suck at, but if I can manage to keep the 409 cleaner out of the same bag as the sugar, I call it successful) I have never been out of a store so fast when I am finished shopping. Love, love, LOVE this store and even though Safeway's one block from my house the only times I've been there since this Winco opened was when it'd snowed and I could only WALK to the store! I'm with Julie in her comment that you get out of there SO fast even when the rush hour crowd on the way home from work shows up. I have NEVER had more than one person infront of me in line every time I've been there! The cashiers are also super friendly and helpful, too! Totally love the bulk section and here's some of my favourites: - chocolate covered espresso beans - absolutely delicious! - Sweet and Spicy Snack Mix - nuts, sesame sticks - perfect blend of sweet and spicy - Peanut Butter Filled Pretzel Nuggets - addictive! - Spices - they recently updated their spice section and added so many more choices. It's so cool to be preparing a recipe and needing a spice you don't normally use and not having to buy an entire jar. I bought a few bay leaves for my Thanksgiving turkey and I think I spent 12 cents! They also have a really great Jamaican Rub that's super spicy. Other favourite things at Winco: The Cascade Pride coffees they carry are SO good! Really great flavours like "Amaretto Kiss", "Dark Chocolate Cherry", "Chocolate Banana". You can take home beans or grind them there. The meat department is great. Amazing quality for the price. We picked up our prime rib for Christmas here and it was as good as any restaurants. The seafood department sells "broken" shrimp - jumbo shrimp pieces that have broken apart for $5.99 a pound. We've bought this for pastas, pizza, tacos. So good! The loose bagels in the bakery department - especially the "Old World" (Everything) bagels coated in garlic, the Herb and Cheese. Always super squishy fresh and toast up nice and chewy and crispy. My one negative is what others have stated - the customers! Many let their children run haphazard down the aisles or could care less if they're stealing candy or sticking their fingers in the bulk bins. When I've seen this I've usually reprimanded the child LOUDLY to embarass them which, of course, brings me a glare from the parents. I could care less. CONTROL your beastly children! read more

Whats NOT to love?! How could I not give WinCo a 5 star review? Cheap groceries, A+!! Bulk Food, A+!! HUGE selection, A+!! You can NOT go wrong at a WinCo!! Back in the day when I lived in Federal Way my apt was a measley mile from a WinCo and the day I moved away I knew that was what I would miss the most! FINALLY the day hath arrived, and a WinCo has opened within a 15 mile radius from my house!! Thank you Little Baby Jesus!! Unlike the other cheap food grocery stores (ah-hem,Grocery Outlet) ... WinCo doesn't lack in selection or variety, and you don't have to fear that your food is going to expire within the week! One of my favorite things about WinCo is the fact that they have BULK foods... rice by the pound, spices by the pinch, candy by the ton ;) pretty much anything you can think of! What a deal!! Oh yes, and the meat prices? Same $ per pound as club prices (Sam's) but without buying 8 pounds! The regular prices at WinCo are comparable to say, Safeway's SALE prices, and most of the time even lower! (Gallon of milk $1.97, Cheerios cereal $1.48, Snack Pack Pudding $0.88 .. to name a few good steals!) I mean WHAT IS NOT TO LOVE?? -Maybe bagging your own groceries? ... which I don't mind. -Or perhaps the crowds? Just don't go on the weekends, or choose an off time like say 10pm at night (hell, they are open 24/7!) -One bad thing for some people, they only except DEBIT cards, NO credit! Honestly, there's nothing special about this place but the "cheaper" prices. I only drop by when my "Poor college student" attitude kicks in. When I can save even $5, I'm a happy camper. Just stay away from the deli. Or, (I've never done this) try asking for a sample of something you'd want, like jojos BEFORE purchasing. Oh man, I love winco so much I wish the east coast had something like it at the same quality. Never had any issues here, great stuff. For the record, some people complain about the produce and fresh stuff at Winco but I've never really tried it myself - don't go to big box discount stores if you want fresh greens people, you live right next to some of the richest farm land on the entire coast. Go to Winco for 50 ounce bags of cereal for 1.79$ and 2$ gallons of milk. Not even amazon can beat those prices. read more

Just had my very first WincCo experience, and it was a good experience. All of the typical name brands, high- and low- end, you would find elsewhere, a huge and amazingly complete bulk sections (i.e. quinoa, wild rice blend, candy, granola, you-name-it-they've-got-it), and great customer service. WinCo was clean, bright, well-organized, and cheap. What else can I say? This place rocks! No need to shop anywhere else, unless you're just dying to spend more money (or are addicted to using your credit card). read more

Plusses - The obvious - the lowest prices of any store in the area The bulk foods!! Great selection, seriously!! They have Shasta soda. Don't laugh!! Shasta is like the only business that makes a diet cream soda and it is delicious!!! Their produce is surprisingly good Their checkers are usually very friendly Open 24 hours Large parking lot Minuses- Bagging your own groceries. That's the worst. Pro-tip: Remember your reusables. They are much, much easier to deal with than the plastic ones they provide. And if you forget your reusable bags they paper bags are on a shelf below the plastic bags. Crazy driving in the parking lot A larger proportion of people being less than willing to control their children shop at this store. And it seems that a lot of them do not speak the same language as I do so I cannot communicate the problem with the kid running into me with their shopping cart. Do not make the mistake of going on the first of the month unless you are out of groceries. Many, many shoppers show up there. read more

Ok first the not so good. The produce, although usually a great deal, does not seem to last as long as any of the other stores in the area. (for me not a big issue as I have a produce stand just down the block). This is why it is 4 and not 5. The bagged salads are fine and most of the fruit is ok. Also they do not advertise like the other stores. You can find a few things online but it is more a hit or miss. The good is their prices! One thing to check, the bigger bags/boxes are not always cheaper here. We saved a $1 on 4 cans of soup verses buying the larger, Family Size, cans. The amazing, Frozen section and Bulk section. We stock up once every other month and the quality of their brand is just as good as the name brands. Love the froze potatoes and my wife loves the prices on the frozen meals for her lunch. On 10 we saved over $10 from Wal-Mart prices! Oh and don't forget their deli if you like fried chicken or baked chicken. And my girls LOVE their egg rolls. They do take Debit cards but NOT credit cards. read more

So far, so good, WinCo. I went there for the first time last week. I mean, how could I not? Supposedly the cheapest grocery store, and it's only 4 miles away from my house? Go. I was warned severely about the crowds here- But on a Wednesday afternoon there was plenty of parking and plenty of carts. I will have to say that I did pretty well here, and WinCo stocks some canned and dry food items that I buy regularly, and the prices are really impressive. I feel like this store is a cross between Costco, Grocery Outlet, and Walmart, because of the layout, prices, and crowds, respectively. Some items, like the meat and frozen food section,were not super impressive. The quality of meat looked okay, and the frozen section was a lot smaller than I expected. Price wise, their meats and frozen foods are about what you'd expect to pay in a regular grocery store. I did get a 3 dollar turkey (26 cents a lb) for spending over 50 dollars- That was an awesome deal, considering they stock the same brand generic turkeys that Buttson's (Albertsons) does and they were selling their turkeys for something like 69 or 79 cents a pound I believe. I will continue to shop the grocery store ads for the meat sales and come to WinCo for things like chips, bread, sauces, and bulk foods. Go during the week or later in the evenings if you can, to beat out the crowds. read more

WinCo is just a few minutes from my house but whenever I think about going there, I'm coming home from work and I'm tired. Looked over a few times while passing it, parking lot was PACKED. Sheesh, that did not make me want to go. But of course, its time to get some new groceries, so we did. Took a few minutes to locate a cart, the place I thought they would be was empty. Kind of reminds me of Costco and Grocery Outlet. A lot of stuff, warehouse look and inexpensive. A lot of people with carts, and it seems, also without care. If you weren't moving, you were likely to get hit. That was no fun. The aisles could have been a few feet bigger. Coffee selection was nice, had some yummy sounding flavors like caramel, hazelnut and chocolate cherry. We bought the vanilla bean, good choice! Spent $80 bucks when it would have been 100 or so somewhere else. Bought some chicken, bread, milk, coffee, cereal, fruit, chips/crackers, so I'd say it was a good deal. But I won't start going here all the time, yes its cheap but I like to not get hit by shopping carts when I'm trying to find dinner. When I visit again I'll update as well, hopefully it will be better. read more

I went to Winco today in the midst of the Covid-19 virus. I just want to say, all the employees are handling this very well. They have monitored the lines to help with ease of checking out. I really enjoy shopping at Winco. I am sad that there is not a closer store to me (though Federal Way is slightly closer, I prefer driving north) I am a latenight person. I hate hate hate shopping during a busy afternoon on a weekend, so I can appreciate that Winco is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. :D The short: It's open all the time, prices are low on good foods, they frequently have sales on the stuff I want. They have a great price on veggie foods and gluten free products as well! The only downside is that you have to bag your own groceries. Its the grand opening and everyone that has heard about WINCOS but has never been there...well they are there. This is one of the latest and greatest Winco locations in WA. I was so glad to see that they opened one in the northend. I used to live near the Federal Way location and so I was a bit sad to move into Seattle and lose my savings! This location is new and so everything is a little 'fancier' than the other stores. Frozen section has doors on it vs. a 'open' format of the older stores. I tend to go on a Sunday and early in the morning so I never have a 'crowd' issue. It may also not be as busy since now there are so many locations. Some co-workers of mine teased me for shopping here saying the food is expired or old but I have never had that issue. The food is cheaper for the same if not better quality and I never have to wait for sales. The only downside to Winco is sometimes they don't carry all the brands you may want and they only allow cash/debit cards. No Visa/Mastercards so no double points for me with my Capone card. Otherwise, one of my go-to stores even if it's 17 miles each way to get there! read more

WinCo Foods: fist isle sometimes has AMAZING bargains! But be careful: there's a quantity limit (like sometimes 12) at the special price. Their Mac & Cheese is far better than Kraft, and is ALL NATURAL ingredients, for like 48 cents!!!!!!!!!! They are quite a drive out of my way. I buy the bulk mixed nuts there. Can you love a grocery store? I guess so, because I love Winco! The store is big and has a large variety of groceries; I always need to make sure I plan enough time so I can browse and stock up. The prices are great, and I love the bulk foods. My girls' favorites are the fresh baked bagels which come in multiple flavors (love the herb & cheese ones!) The employees are helpful and friendly. I get everyone's stressed because of COVID but I work customer service too and my job is so much more hectic than usual but I'm never outright rude like some of the employees here are. Winco is FANTASTIC. I LOVE this store. The building is brand new, the prices are amazing (cheaper than Walmart!) and the food is of high quality. I went on a Saturday which you think would be the craziest time to go but it was fine. The lines were SHORT and I was able to get through the store with a loaded cart (like everyone else in there) without any difficulty. I love love love this place! They buy in bulk so the prices are cheaper but you do not have to.The parking lot is a good size plus they have shopping cart placements everywhere so that you do not see carts in parking spots. They sell spices, candy, rice, flour, nuts in loose bulk which is so practical when you don't need to buy a pound of something. Yes, the first time I went it was busy but I had no problems getting a parking spot or a cart. They staff was very helpful and friendly. The second time I went it was a perfect day (Wednesday afternoon) no lines no crowd! The prices are awesome and they have just about anything there! So I'm not sure what their technique is for grinding for ground beef but the last 3 times I've purchased it I've found small pieces of bone in it, which you can only find by process of elimination while your eating. You can find several things cheaper, and everyone knows it. Don't go during peak hours if you can help it, otherwise pray for daylight. Very limited local or organic options if at all, but it isn't expected. Meat isn't good quality, you can tell that chicken shouldn't look yellow. There really should be a steward of the bulk section, so that if you need to scratch your gentiles cause some of the people nearby make you feel itchy, you won't have to feel bad about reaching in a bulk bin. I love shopping at Winco. Everyone who works there is so nice and helpful. The prices are great and they have a great variety of items. I wish they would source more organic fruits and vegetables but they seem to be getting better every year so clearly this is of importance to them. I love their bulk section too. I love that you can buy bulk foods here that are so much cheaper than prepackaged! You can even buy your spices this way for a fraction of the cost of most grocery stores. Produce is wonderful here and prices are really good. You cannot use credit cards here; debit cards are okay. Yes, you must bag your groceries, but they have plastic or paper sacks to use. I've always had great service when needed here! Their prices can't be beat, but some things are better deals than others. Produce can be hit and miss but I've only ever had issues with bagged potatoes and onions and I possible was storing them in a warmer than necessary spot. The bulk bins are a huge $$$ saver, ESPECIALLY for spices. Their checkouts are a pain in the butt at times, so I sometimes use the self check out to avoid major lineups. Love Winco! read more

I have had good luck with the meats Ive bought, but its been limited. Usually for my crock-pot or from the deli. All except Turkey, it tasted more like baloney. No, it wasnt turkey breast... BRAND NAMES... I lived close to FOSTER FARMS in CA. I love CHILI, less that 90 cents per can. I love JOHNSVILLE BRATS and all of the JOHNSVILLE products... BRAND NAMES !!! ONE more time, THEY DO NOT TAKE CREDIT CARDS! Cash or debit, and they even take the EBT card for those that have them and use them. Use, NOT abuse! Im slower than most people bagging their groceries. I like coming here for reasonable prices our bulk purchase that don't make sense at Costco. The vegetables are normally fresh thigh they have their bad days. The prices are much better than the chain grocery stores thigh not as good as some of the smaller Asian markets. I have got sick from the prepared food like the subs so I tend to keep to the raw foods. I get the vibe everything is about to expire so we tend to not wait long to eat the food once it's home. Every time I have been shopping since the pandemic, there are a few stockers who are not wearing their masks over their nose and mouth. We love to shop at this store and take our time HowEver : Be extremely careful when purchasing anything that you cannot see through the package. The last several trips we have wound up with Moldy Bagels, English Muffins, Bread ETC.. This stuff wasn't cheap either. It adds up. You make a sandwich or two and two days later the whole loaf of Bread or Bagels or Muffins are MOLDLY. Same goes with the Produce. Buy a bag of Salad you cant see through the whole package and open it a day or two later and its SLIMEY inside. Not Edible This is happening more and more. We may have to go somewhere else. We are loosing too much money on Food that goes bad in a day or two. We don't eat a whole loaf of bread in a day or of Bagels or Muffins. They should last like the date says on the package. Winco is amazing! They are so nice and helpful.This place is huge so it is easy to forget where something is and yet every employee knows excactly where everything is. They get freight every day, so their shelves are constantly stocked. They have great prices. Their bulk foods have the best selection I've ever seen. At the check out line they always ask "did you find everything ok" and one day I answered "sadly no". The clerk asked what I was looking for and called an employee over to grab the item I could not find while the clerk rang up my stuff so I didn't have to wait in line again. Cons: With such great pricing and services, it is expected that they will be busy, so yes you have to wait in a costco sized line to check out. No, they do not accept credit cards. And yes you have to bag your own groceries (but most people use self check out at other places and have to bag their stuff as well). You get the large quanity, great quality service of costco but you don't have to pay an annual membership fee. Also, do not purchase meats, unless they are flash frozen in a factory, as their meats are not great quality. read more

I do like the prices and the huge variety available but the Everett store is dirty. When selecting a grocery cart I usually have to clean out the garbage left in it by the previous customer. And the floor around the carts is generally littered. But the thing that really disgusts me is that customers are allowed to place their dogs in the grocery cart while they shop. Even if the dog is a service animal (which I doubt most of these are) they shouldn't be riding around in a cart. It's unsanitary! I don't want to put my food in a basket where a dog's butt has been sitting. read more

Winco! From your great prices to your Staff ownership, you are a winning company. This location is very convenient, just off the freeway and two blocks from Costco. The bulk section is fantastic with a lot of variety. They keep adding new things! I just was able to get Panko in bulk for my Mac-N-Cheese! They have a fairly large produce section. The organic items are limited, but at least there is an effort. The store is great for getting your everyday grocery shopping done and is a great supplement to Costco when Costco size bulk doesn't make sense. The best part about Winco is being able to get a full cart of food, check out, and get a surprise of how little it costs! read more

So I went into the Everett Winco today and was never treated so horribly before! I had my huge cart full of groceries at the check out unloading, my daughter in law had her hands full with my two year old granddaughter who was upset, tired and in tears, not screaming not throwing a temper, just crying. My service dog was sitting in the basket, on his blanket like at every other store. And the check out lady calls over a manager or assistant manager I'm not sure which, but I wish I got a name. Anyway, as I'm unloading the cart he tells me my service dog wasn't "allowed in the cart or basket", that I "had to hold him the whole time". I would like to know, how many people with disabilities can grocery shop holding your service animal? Holding a child if your not disabled? No? No one? Hmmmm he thought I could. I pointed out the blanket he was on and said, " no other store has ever had a problem because he is sitting on a blanket." The guy said he didn't care I needed to "get him out'. Well sir, did you try to see if I needed help? Ask to assist me in unloading my cart? Nope. So tell me, how am I to hold my service dog, defuse a crying baby, unload my cart, bag my own groceries and pay for them? Hmmmmm I told him when I was done, I'll get my dog out, then the check out lady glared at me, huffed and after she scanned every item she muttered nasty comments about me to my daughter in law and glared at me the whole time. In front of other people!!!!! Embarrassing!!!! If you have disabilities, DONT go to Winco! They are not disable friendly! They don't care if they humiliate you, they don't want to lift a finger or help anyone. I can't wait until the ADA realizes how biased and unfair Winco, Wincos management, and Wincos employees are and does something about it.
