It's basically a freshly fried, slightly sweet dough sprinkled with sugar. It was served warm and was light and crispy on the outside while still soft inside. The place itself is very small, but part of the experience is being able to watch them making and frying everything fresh right through the glass window. I can't speak to the other items they offer since we didn't try them, but I would absolutely stop back for another Schmalznudel. Simple, fresh, warm and really good!
