Was visiting from out of town, really excited to come here :) we got 4 drinks, 3 hard liquor drinks with a mixer and a busch light for $14. My friend went and grabbed another busch light for $6.50 .... Kinda weird how it was half the order ... we also saw an open pool table but one of the regulars (I'm assuming) came up and said he was gonna play then walked away for 10 minutes to come back and say that his friend bailed on him so if we wanted to play him in pool which we didn't because why would we want to after that stupid shit. I am an Ames native but live in Hawaii now. My brother, his wife, my sister, and my nephew hung out there for a few hours last night. We had a blast. Friendly bartender, great jukebox, good vibes...and in the middle of summer, a pitcher of ice-cold beer is amazingly refreshing. Can't wait for a return visit! read more

This is the most classic of all classic dive bars. The drinks are cheap and strong. They have a few pool tables and an ATM since they only take cash. If you stop by early morning you can see the regulars and splurge on a 50 cent cup of coffee. Don't not enter with pretense!!! Enter with no judgement and enjoy. read more
