I had never shopped at this store and I was truly impressed about the selection of sneakers they offer for every occasion. Very impressive. The store was well organized, and we received very good customer service. My friend left happy.

THE REAL GAME CHANGER FOR AVALON!…read more Sundance is a new store for women located in the newest addition of Avalon. It has a beautiful aesthetic with great decor and lighting. My husband immediately found his "husband chair" and waited patiently for me to explore the space. All items were carefully staged with purpose in a generous space, (no crowded racks or inaccessible items). This store has been open for approximately three weeks and it is a game changer. It is truly Avalon worthy because it is a different type of store. It is that store that has unique pieces, quality materials and fabrics and great colors. I love it! When shopping, I don't need a haul, I just need one really great piece that I love. It can be a bag, a great pair of shoes, a piece of jewelry or clothing. This is a great place to find that something special. Sundance carries a little bit of everything: special occasion dresses, casual wear, great sweaters in wool and cotton, boots, shoes, leather bags, sterling silver accessories, hats, gloves and even some home decor items. There is a lot to see but it was a bit difficult to get the full lay of the land because the store was very busy today during Avalon's Christmas event. For me this is my "downtown" store. As a child, I loved to go downtown to the dress shops early on Saturday morning. The women were always impeccably dressed and the customer service was unmatched. They would always service you at you dressing room, delivering options so that you never had to leave your room. Once you found your perfect outfit, you could then accessorize because they also carried hats, gloves and jewelry. Everything you purchased was wrapped like a gift and I always loved carrying the boxes. I didn't get to purchase anything today because it was just too busy for me. When shopping in these types of stores, I like to do so on off hours when I can have the place to myself and really experience it all. Also, I am a label reader and I love to check out the various materials and details of garments and accessories. I really appreciated the fact that when I picked up a bag, it was a leather bag of unquestioned quality. Unfortunately, I just needed basic black which they didn't have and that's okay, because they are so NOT basic! I will definitely be back to see more of Sundance because although it was very busy, the women made me feel welcomed and took time to engage in conversation. When you are in the store, don't forget to take time to register for their mailing list so that you can receive updates and discounts. ***This store is located close to the Apple Store and Brine Seafood Shack.

I would rate the service hit or miss. A salesperson who is not attentive or barely polite is a disincentive to buyers who can spend their money any place they choose. So to the Mgr of Sundance - do some coaching with your associates and select staff wisely. It's the difference between shoppers spending a couple of hundred dollars vs a couple of thousand.

I've recently discovered Designer Shoe Warehouse, actually noticing that there is a store near…read morewhere I work and another store close to where I live. This is review is for the Dunwoody DSW that is located near where I live. This store is in the Perimeter area in the Perimeter Village shopping center, and it has a big parking lot which means ample parking spaces. This is a big DSW, with lots of wide aisles so you don't have to worry about tripping over people while they're trying on shoes, or being stepped on while you're trying on shoes. There are shoes for the whole family (wait, I'm not sure if they have baby shoes, but, then, do babies really need to wear shoes?), and this is a big store that is well light throughout. I like that this is one of those stores where most adults can walk in and see which section interests them because the shelving isn't that tall. Single shoes are displayed as samples on the shelves, with the inventory for that shoe below in boxes so customers can easily locate the shoes size they need and try them on. The men's section is on the far left side of the store as you walk in. I was surprised with the various types (formal looking, casual, flip flops, sandals, boots, oxfords, etc.), quality (well made leather to shoes you know are going to only last one season), and prices (starting under $20 to over $100) of men's shoes. I found comfortable work shoes at decent prices. I'm glad I'm not one of those shoe hoarders, because I know I would've bought way too many pairs of shoes than I need. Just realize that Designer Shoe Warehouse is more warehouse than designer, since you won't find any high end designer shoes here. This place is definitely the store to come to when you want to save money vs quality department stores. Customers can save even more money by finding shoes that they like on clearance. The men's clearance racks are also on the left side but waaaaaaaay in the back. Shoes on sale, some at deep discounts, can be found in this section. There is only one checkout line that leads to multiple registers. Unfortunately, there were only one registers open with many people waiting in line when I was there. Overall I'm a fan of this store.

(It was a cheapo from Target clearance but I loved it. It went everywhere with me and had plenty of pockets for all my junk.) So after I washed it a few times and the smell wouldn't come out...I finally had to say it was time to say...nah nah nah nan...hey hey hey...good bye. So for the next few months I begin to look for a everyday tote. My criteria was the following it had to be a black or grey. had to have a zip top must have outside pockets for keys and cell phones and subway passes wide enough to fit my laptop but not so wide I look like a bag lady made of something durable but still nice enough to take to the office. I came in on a whim and found a tote that was marked $400 and for some reason that particular day all the men's section was 50% off. So it would be $200...sweet...but as they were looking for a new one for me to take home....the one I was looking at was the store model....we realized they were all out of black, Only the brown was available....In the end they agreed to sell me the floor model for $100. Not a bad deal. I was happy and use it every day. It's very handy for travel because I can use it as a purse+ carry on. No need to lug around another suit case.... While they are much smaller than the Seattle's, they are more comprehensive gear shops around the Metro. This Perimeter REI is the best in our area. Sure, all Metro locations carry mostly same things plus or minus few inventory items / sizes. For me, it comes down to the staff and currently, this Sandy Springs REI has the most competent and attentive people. Recently, I ordered several hiking boots online and had to return one. I decided to return it to a store rather than by mail. I was educated on such huge staff knowledge differences on simple return process amongst local REI locations. It seems our consumer service level in most places have declined much in the past few years. However, as a Co-Op, REI has mostly kept up their service level even with my recent experience at another location. I appreciate Atlanta has many REI locations in a city that has very limited outdoor gear shops. One thing I absolutely find helpful at REI is their rock ramp to test the boots. Though when I was visiting many were shopping for OC sneakers. The staff here were more knowledgeable and helpful especially if you are early in your outdoor habits. Enjoy!
