Coming from LA and all it offered, there isn't much variety when it comes to pole/aerial studios in…read moreEnschede. There is probably only one other pole studio in Enschede I can compare this place to (spoiler, it is awful!). But I must say, this studio is pretty damn great! The first class I went to here, I was feeling pretty homesick and missing my studio back home. This studio, however, was pretty close to feeling like how they teach us back home! Except more fitness oriented. European pole dance is definitely a lot more different from pole dance in America (which is more dance-y and sensual). The warm up is more of a work out, but this is so great because Enschede is so cold that I need a lot to warm up. First of all, the vibe from the instructors and the other students is very nice! All the girls were clearly familiar with more advanced pole moves and so we were speaking the same language of pole dancing. Second, the instructors are skilled at instructing and spotting during tricks. Third, the studio is a pretty decent layout. The entire studio has 2 pole rooms, but the class I take teaches out of one. This one has 2 out of 8 spinning poles, and 1 out of the 8 is just naked chrome (the rest are painted white). The other pole room has all spinning and naked chrome poles. They also offer more dance-y classes but it's a separate class and I can't afford more than 1 class a week. Those classes incorporate more chair or floor work than the pole as well. Getting signed up for a class was PRETTY difficult, because communication was fickle. They aren't very responsive on their facebook group, hardly respond to emails, and their website is entirely in Dutch. I got a class by using my google translator to translate the site so I could sign up online without anyone's interference...after that I got an email in Dutch in which I responded in English, and they still responded in Dutch. Thank god for technology! One last thing is the location of this studio. It is biking distance toward the city center from my school, which is great for me! Also right next to my dog's vet (that's how I discovered it). I definitely recommend it to people interested, the only downside is that it is a bit pricey for students with no income.
