I was so grateful to know that she felt seen - by her peers, educators, and administrators. Well, time flies, and I see now that I actually started writing this review more than a year ago. I just received an email from the school that inspired me to come back here and finally finish it! In light of the upcoming election, Presentation communicated to parents their efforts to empower our daughters to be thoughtful and empathetic young leaders. They encourage us to lift up our girls to disagree with confidence and civility. Next week, they will hold space for students to come together to respectfully dialogue and reflect on the election. Presentation does an excellent job communicating with parents and I am very thankful for that. What is most impressive to me is the way that they live out their school motto, "Not Words, but Deeds". When you read their emails, their weekly newsletters, their Mission, Vision, and Commitment, their words honestly reflect what they practice. I am hopeful, knowing that these girls are being given the tools to take out into the world to make it a better, kinder, more empathetic place.

But there's one issue that I cannot ignore anymore--THE DRESS CODE, and it's completely out of control. We know the rules. We follow the rules. My daughters have been called out on a few occasions for having a logo the size of their fist on a hoodie. I'm talking about something so minimal, it's not even worth a second thought. And yet, my senior daughter has been consistently badgered over the same minor infraction. Enough is enough! But here's the real problem that's driving me absolutely insane: the blatant hypocrisy and favoritism that's happening with the enforcement of this dress code. It's infuriating to watch. I've seen countless LGBTQ+ students walking around wearing hats, beanies, ripped pants (not on Pres Wear Wednesday), hoodies with messages that violate the dress code, and even sunglasses in class. And NOTHING happens! Why are they allowed to get away with blatant disregard for the dress code, while my child gets punished for something so petty? Now, I get it, the school might be hesitant to confront LGBTQ+ students, but that doesn't mean the rest of us should be punished for their lack of consistency. I don't care if they're scared of being accused of homophobia or transphobia--this is a school, not a social experiment. The rules are there for EVERYONE, and they need to be enforced EQUALLY. It's an utter joke to watch my daughter get an hour of detention for a small logo while others can walk around in clothes that are clearly against the dress code, and nothing happens to them. This is not just unfair--it's outrageous! It's beyond frustrating that my child is being punished for something that doesn't even affect her education, her safety, or her ability to learn. Meanwhile, students wearing entirely inappropriate clothes--pants that aren't even part of the dress code, atheist hoodies, hats, and sunglasses indoors--get to do whatever they want without consequence. This isn't just a small oversight; this is a blatant, unacceptable double standard that I am absolutely DONE with. What kind of message is Presentation sending? That the rules only apply to some students but not others? That favoritism is okay as long as it's "politically correct"? My child deserves respect. She deserves to be treated fairly, and she deserves to not be punished for something that is completely arbitrary and unfair. The rules should be applied consistently, and I will NOT stand by while this double standard continues to undermine the school's integrity.

The resources that the community contributes like "Beautification day" keep the pride level high. One of my sons was struggling really hard and lost focus, instead of giving up on him - we got so much love and support he was motivated and graduated on time thanks to many teachers and Mr. Gallegos! The sports programs ROCK (more attention to Cheerleading and the band would be good), and I was so glad to see the pride all the kids have to participate in parades "Founders Day", Mother/son & Father/daughter dances, and all kinds of crazy dress up days. PROM time in WG is taken very seriously. A family member of mine is a Principle in Contra Costa County and trust me we are blessed beyond belief for what we have as a community and school. The Prom there was a "dance" and nobody even bothered to dress up or bring a date - so I guess it was only a dance.

The outdoor pool is decent, sun-drenched and used for their swim team and coaching leased to companies like Fitter and Faster swim training. The aluminum bleachers were unforgiving: I felt every minute of the 3 hours I sat waiting. (Oof, my back!) The campus was lively even on the weekends with kids using the basketball and tennis courts. With their facilities, seems like a very sporty junior and high school.

There were a lot of really negative parents the first two years that complained about EVERYTHING, but many of them seemed to have left. It's really a great place to learn. It's challenging, but my son really likes it...especially having separate Chemistry, Biology, and Physics classes. Update 2016: Still happy with the school. They have continually improved on most aspects of the school. Poor performing teachers have been moved out quickly. Kid loves it. *** So far so good. The teachers are amazing and the best part of the school. There were certainly some facility issues with the new building at the start of the year but that's smoothed out now. Granted, the school is not for the academically weak. But after 5 months at the school our son really loves it. He's in a rigorous program, is challenged, AND he enjoys it. We are very lucky to have this school in our community. The downside isn't the school but all the tiger parents...never happy with anything. They put incredible pressure on the school and their kids. No matter what question we had, we always saw friendly staff which is open, ready to help, and resolve any situation in the best way. Academics are great, which is big deal for us. After OOS, kids attend highly selective high schools, and doing great at rigorous classes; which is again a great compliment to OOS teachers for good preparation. OOS does a great job at helping their 8th grade students with the high school admission process. The school community is wonderful, great families, many of which became our close friends. The classes are small, allowing each student to grow. There are always lots of opportunities for parents to be actively involved in school life, but it is not mandatory if your busy life does not allow you to do it. Highly recommended this school!

Parents thought one of the teachers was not a good teacher, but they had lots of positive things to say about the other teachers (or something like that). Actually, there were a lot of problems with this school surrounding the teachers, including how good they are or if there were enough teachers. Stratford Preparatory Blackford is one campus that some parents decided to transfer their kids to starting sixth grade. The parents didn't really like the school. My experience was pretty good, it's just that the nearby Stratford School Los Gatos just felt BETTER.
