Wow, what a beautiful library!! Such a wide variety of selections that have anything you may be looking for. There are two stories filled with beautiful views to sit and get some work done while having great scenery to look up at. I also really appreciated the natural lighting all around this library that gives it a welcoming and uplifting feel! Librarians were friendly and helpful, as well. I asked if they could help me get a library card set up and they had it done within a few minutes! Such a great experience in an amazing library. I would definitely recommend and appreciate finding this hidden gem! read more

Prejudiced against homeschooled families and retaliatory. My family used the library study rooms for months because my daughter has a neurological disability and requires a distraction-free environment. Over time, staff in the Special Collections department became increasingly passive-aggressive and unwelcoming, making comments that we were not the "intended" patrons for the space, despite other librarians confirming it was first-come, first-served. The situation culminated when a staff member explicitly told us it was fine to bring a drink into the room, only for my daughter to accidentally drop a few ice cubes on the carpet. Staff insisted it was no problem at the time, but when we returned weeks later, they used this minor accident as a pretext to permanently ban us from the entire Special Collections department. When I attempted to escalate this unfair treatment to the Library Director, Jessica Jetters, my complaints were completely dismissed. The director refused to investigate the staff's hostile behavior, treated us like we were lying, and simply stated: "The decision is final." Since filing the complaint, the retaliation has escalated. We have been banned from community "adult" craft events we were previously invited to attend and are now receiving targeted emails monitoring our room bookings. It feels like an intentional effort by management to bully a family with a disabled child out of a public facility. Unbelievably unprofessional and unwelcoming leadership. I've never experienced this behavior and bullying from mere librarians who've managed to create a single channel with a singular purpose: to make us feel unwelcome to better suit them. read more

I love the WilCo public library for how well organized and easy it is to navigate & enjoy shopping from their Friends of the Library bookstore in the front & frequent book sales they host! read more

Yes, it's true. People still do read books...the old fashioned kind. You know, the kind you hold in your hand ... with pages that you actually can touch and turn. My wife is an avid reader and goes through an average of 4 or 5 per week. I am more of a writer than a reader, (3 non-fiction books published in the past 3 years); and yet, I do pick up the odd mystery or historical account. Or, as in the case of a fellow (local) writer who has been on the NY Times Best Seller List, historical fiction. Williamson County Public Library has these genre as well as so many more available right now. But wait...there's more...the libraries of old are not today's institutions. The library is a treasure trove of other opportunities. And during this time of restricted access to places, the library has on-line, virtual offerings from digital novels, to children's (TV) Storytime, digital magazines, movies, music and more. With you library card you can even access ancestry.com and check out your ancestors! (Through March 2021) Our favorite feature right now, inasmuch as we are remaining relatively isolated, is the "Holds-2-Go" Curbside service. Easy to use and über convenient. Simply log onto the library, browse for paperbacks and hard copies you'd like to check out. 2) Place holds online anytime (or over the phone during business hours.) 3) Watch for an email alert, text message, or phone call then drive to the library the following morning during the "Holds-2-Go" hour. 4) Pull into the lot (rear of the building) off Columbia and Granbury St. and wait in your vehicle at the entrance. 5) There a staff member will use your library card or your ID to retrieve the books or items you have on hold.  You can even return books you've read without even leaving your vehicle! Convenience with a plus! And...there is much more. Check their website or Facebook page for hours, events, and other notices. Things change frequently....and almost always for the better! read more

Williamson County Public Library - Yes. Curbside at the library. Thanks, WCPL! - Libraries Near Me - Franklin, Tennessee

A great library with plenty of space to get away and get some work done. There are many nooks to hide away for some peace and quiet. The selection of books is also quite good. :) read more

Well, within the next year or two my fiance and I hope to move out to the Franklin/Cool Springs are as that is where we work. As such this would be one of our local library branches, so this first visit of mine to this location in a way was a preview. Anyway, we (my fiance, a friend and I) came out to the Williamson County Library Franklin branch for a talk on touring Tokyo with Anime and Manga in mind. The talk was given by a native Japanese woman who grew up in Tokyo and went to school at MTSU and now lives in Williamson County. Every summer she goes back to Tokyo with her family to visit her parents and she visits all the Anime and Manga related sites while she is there. The talk was very informative and made my fiance and I want to go to Japan even more now. As for the library itself, it is really quite nice and reminds me a lot of the Main Davidson County Branch. It is very open and spacious for such a small library, and seems like a great place to visit for some quiet time. My only complaint, and yes it is a library not a cafe, but if you are going to have a small snack nook at the very least have a trash can and water fountain in the "snack nook" for people to use. Anything beyond that is just icing on the cake, but to make it actually appear as a "snack nook" have a trashcan and a water fountain. Also, great you want to promote your manga and anime sections... how about teaming up with your local anime convention to expand what you can do and do it better. Just my ten cents, but still great for what it was, and most important of all FREE! read more

A nice new library! I went for a meeting here in the front conference room. A nice large room, very little heat though, so be prepared. I didn't have time to check out the actual books section of the library, but from what I could tell, it seemed to be nice. read more

Front desk staff is so consistently unkind that I hesitate to go. I don't know what it is because even new the staff members are rude--like it's part of their handbook. It's sad because Franklin is such a lovely place to have such grumpy staff at our library. Children's librarians are very helpful though! read more

Children's librarian was wonderful. Front desk staff are never friendly. Great historians on staff in special records. Took a beginner genealogy class here a couple months ago and it was free and informative. read more

This is a great library. It's not the biggest or baddest library in the world, but it's a decent size for a small town (with inner library loan from the other locations too). The children's department is really a great place with lots of weekly activities. I'm a big audio book gal (love driving and reading legally!), and while the audio select isn't awesome, it's really not to shabby either. I've yet to get bored. This place is truly an asset to the community. read more

A great library with friendly staff. Decent DVD section to have a free movie night, and wifi throughout. They have presentations, teach some basic computer classes for free, and has some nice natural light. Wish they would have put some PV solar on the roof. read more

This was a fun, free stop during my tour of Nashville. I don't like large museums because my ADD will set in so Williamson is a perfect sized museum to drop some knowledge on you without you going stir crazy. It is a free museum but please drop a couple of bucks in the donation basket if you enjoyed your time there. The museum was very well laid out and had some interesting things to see. You can get in and out in 20 minutes and was well worth the stop to get out of the summer heat (yes people I have been sitting on some unfinished reviews for a long time). read more

Honestly, this library was difficult to deal with because of the little amount of books even in all the libraries it includes combined. The libraries in Ohio were much better, especially the main one in Columbus. So I would like to live in Ohio, and I will soon. I can't believe that Williamson County is one of the richest counties in the nation and it can't even seem to get decent books. The good things about this "library" are the activities held and classes available. But seriously, isn't a library supposed to be a place for mostly books?!? read more

I am a HUGE critic when it comes to this library. "Why?" you may ask. Well, it has much to do with my feelings of government duties and responsibilities and when it comes to this public facility, I believe someone needs to fall on their sword. It's an absolute cheap horror, from the fake glass dome to the beachwood (or not even wood) staircase to the furnishings and technology. The build quality is astoundingly bad. If you just need a quieter place than Starbucks, you are in for hard seats with no cushion and, depending on the time of year, a room temperature inadequately managed by someone, in another building, from the county. Our counterparts in Brentwood have MANY county facilities done much more satisfactorily AND they are in the same county. What kind of sense does this make? Does the Franklin city government not deem our county facilities as important as Brentwood's? I doubt they even care. Furthermore, I am in an outrage over the battleground preservation movement that has been going on in this city for more than a decade. The city bought the lot that Pizza Hut owned across the street and put some cannon balls in the middle of the site to commemorate the battleground (who knows how much that cost the city) and brazenly built the dadgum public library right across the street. Is this real life? I'm also pretty sure that the city has something to do with the old BATTLE GROUND ACADEMY (emphasis on the name of the school) site right next door. They are also allowing the construction of some hideous new condos across the side-street from the library. Good people of Franklin, your money is finding grotesquely incongruous uses around the city. Let's not even talk about the Country Club of Franklin and Carnton waste of good land and money. But, I digress. So, in essence, what you have here is a below Brentwood standard (even though we are in the same county) facility built on hypocritical grounds (quite literally). These are things that, in total, make the experience of this library unsatisfactory. read more
