The showroom visit was supposed to be a great experience (mandatory) but was not really beneficial. We bought many items from outside sources. The building quality in my opinion was average. They say you can participate in the actual building process but once you start there is always a reason you can't. Plan to paint your home. To me the quality of product used was inferior and it was a battle to get what we wanted. We painted 1/2 of our home including purchasing the product and received no credit. In fact, they made it clear it was a burden to them. The 30 day follow-up took almost 6 months and the quality of follow-up was not satisfactory. Lastly, they are a larger organization and the paperwork was atrocious. A form and a CYA document is required for EVERYTHING. I felt as if they believe they are too big and too important for the average homeowner and they would rather focus their time and effort on their other projects.

Since then we have made several claims per the warranty and learned that the only person the warranty protects is DeShano. Our DeShano built home includes, no ice and water shield, buried electrical boxes, cut floor joist, improper framing, missing insulation, missing drainage tile, and voids under the concrete basement floor, all speaking to the lack of quality building practices. Cigarette buts, candy wrappers, and garbage in the walls and crawl space speak to the lack of care. Go with another builder.

Then, a few weeks ago, I started hearing an animal in my house and rather than pay fortune to try to catch it, I called Barnes to see if we could just make sure there was no opening on the roof. Bob came out immediately, went over the whole roof and everything is solid but he also went around the whole house and found a spot in the soffit where a squirrel might get in.
