Good park with a lot of the amenities I care about. Lots of space, trees, water and parking right next to the park.

Love this park. My dogs enjoy their visit every time we venture out. This park is well kept by volunteers who poor a lot of love into it. There's a walk way into a memorial area for people to go who want to remember a lost pet.

I've gone to this dog park three times now and I absolutely love it. There's plenty of street parking and the large dog side is massive! As you continue to walk deeper into the large dog side they have plenty of seating including picnic tables and a gazebo. There is even a memorial spot of dogs that used to play there that have passed. Depending on your preference, there are also several shaded or direct sun areas. This is a wonderful dog park.

Just visiting Carmel for the day with my doodle for Poodle Day! And on our way back home we decided to stop at a dog park on our way back to get some free time. And this is the cutest dog park I've ever seen. It's so cute! Tan bark can be a little messy but it's a dog park what do you expect lol. And while we were there on of the dog parents were sweeping the walkway. It just shows how the community cares. If I'm ever back in the area with my doggie I'll be stopping by again!

Upper park area with lots of dogs to play.

We were visiting Monterey for a couple days. We traveled with our 6 month old puppy Dakota. Although we took long walks on the beach, Dakota still had a lot of energy. The dog park has two separate areas one for small dogs and one for larger dogs. The space for the larger dogs is a little deceiving. You can't see the major part of the area because it goes up a hill and around a corner where it opens up into a wide open larger area. Once we got up the hill there were plenty of dogs for Dakota to play with. All the dogs were well behaved and the owners we met were very welcoming. If you are ever in the Monterey area and need a place for your dog to burn off some energy this park is a great choice.

By far the best dog park I've ever been to! Lots of dogs to play with and lots of people to chat with.

This dog park is our 75th dog park, or thereabouts. (We are up to 77 dog parks now.). (I have gone several times, spent maybe 10 hours there.) William Paccheti Dog Park has: Two sections (large and small) Fenced (not all dog parks are fenced) Garbage cans nice wood chips Water with nice bowls (water nearly always fresh) Double gate (at first entrance, see my photos) Lots of shade from gorgeous oaks Chairs, seating a memorial garden for past dogs nice shed with tools This manicured, all volunteer dog park is donation based. Since our very first much loved dog park was the same I can appreciate everything that goes into this particular KIND of dog park. The attention to detail is outstanding. Volunteer dog parks hardly ever have a look like this one (all fences are commercial grade, latches are commercial grade, all tools are top quality). I usually send my husband or myself into the large dog section first to walk to the back since you can't see who is in there till you get there. (You could walk around back by school to see, but it's not a natural thing to do so one of us walks to the back.) It's not my favorite dog park in town. Why? Well it's not my dogs favorite. If I'm driving by I would stop by for sure. My dog is so good at dog parks that I'm never worried about him as long as it's clean which this one ALWAYS is. After following the Facebook page for a couple weeks I found the FB content by park goers was not approaching typical dog park issues the way that people would listen. (Trust me, I have seen it all and know how weird it can get.). I left the FB page. To be fair I would have left the FB page anyway after simply sharing the photos I took of the park. Few dog park Facebook pages work out it seems. I find that there has been more dog fights at Pachetti than I am used to at our mainstay dog parks (Schoonover Dog Park at CSUMB aka Marina Dog Park on Yelp, and Polo Grounds Dog Park in Aptos) so I favor them. It's gorgeous. Really, its drop dead gorgeous with the cool Monterey coast California Oaks that are mature and just amazing. It's a deeply loved dog park by the matriarch. I doubt my dog will get in any fights (he knows how to be ignored by ill behaved dogs), but it's just not our favorite. Sounds strange if you don't know what I'm talking about it, but here goes: I find that the really pretty dog parks (it really is STUNNING) attract people who don't always put as much effort into their dogs. In this case I think they DO try to put the effort in, it's just that a few people haven't learned how to present data in a way that people will be receptive, and a few more just should not be there. What would I change? The tractor gate having a lock on it (combo lock if many people need access to drop off chips?) Find some way to see all through the dog park (no surprises on who is in there with me - dog park meetup of a whole bunch of a specific breed?) And trim under the bushes/trees so I can see my dog at all times (don't want to miss that potty break!) If that doesn't make sense that is fine. I just want my dog to enjoy dog park, not learn bad habits from other dogs, and to go home safely. The folks behind this park did a smashing job. I am in awe of the efforts. I know exactly what goes into all this kind of VOLUNTEER dog park!

    This dog park is HUGE!

This is pretty standard at every other dog park. Why would you not have a faucet and some bowls available? 2) The park doesn't seem to be maintained at all or at least not frequently. The trash can was completely overflowing, and there was a ton of old dog poop all over the park. Weeds were growing up in several spots through the wood chips. 3) The wood chips. Wow. There's a lot of them. For the big dogs, I'm guessing it wouldn't be too hard to navigate, but smaller dogs would have difficulties wading through such a thick layer of substrate. My sheltie did not look particularly comfortable as she tried to walk through it. 4) Other reviews have commented on this as well, and I have to agree. There is definitely a creepy element to the people who are hanging out in their cars next to the park. One guy was parked right next to the entrance to the small dog section, and he stared at us the entire time we were there. It wasn't pleasant. I really wanted to like this park, the location is so great and the view of the lake is really nice. But the park feels so neglected and forgotten. It wasn't enjoyable for me or my pup.

This is a beautiful area to walk your dog, and we met many dogs along the way. We found out that it's not a great place to bring a stroller because of all the tree roots. You cannot walk very far in any one direction because you will come upon a road on all sides of the area. And yet, it is still possible to lose your way because there are many paths, and they are all unnamed. Also, there are no signs to direct you.
