I met Andre after my regular therapist was recovering from chemo, and I asked for a deep tissue massage. I had been getting deep tissue from my previous therapist for a car accident. When I told Andre this, he told me he was unable to perform deep tissue on me without seeing x-rays, and gave me another kind of massage which was just at therapeutic. This is the way a professional therapist works. If someone is trying to get relief and improve their quality of life due to an injury, a licensed therapist needs to know exactly what is going on. For example, I had a massage therapist who I had never been to crack my wrists and I swear my left wrist has never been the same. Andre is not a spa day, he is a true therapist. After going to real, professional therapists like Andre, I will NEVER go back to a regular massage at a spa. Massage can help but it can also hurt.

I have heard about Esalen over the years and have always dreamed of going to the Esalen Institute Spa in Big Sur, California but have never had the opportunity so I felt so fortunate to find an Esalen trained practioner here in Atlanta! The techniques is different from other massage techniques as the strokes are long and fluid. There are gentle rocking techniques added that aid the body to relax and let itself unfold naturally, rather than being manipulated and forced to relax.
