Not only was the care provided subpar, she also did not take any time to listen and seemed to not even care to understand my symptoms or concerns. She spoke at me, not with me as a partner in my own care. I'm genuinely surprised that a woman gynecologist has no idea how to connect and best support a woman patient. Be very cautious before you book an appointment with her.

I'm sure some of us get anxiety from new things so I'll try to be as detailed as possible. I couldn't be happier with my experience here. I called to make an appointment and quickly connected with someone who was friendly and helpful. Although BHS was not in my network, they were very upfront about the self-pay fee ($375) and took my payment info over the phone. There were no surprise fees or billing issues. My evaluation appointment was a little over a week later and the clinical interview was two weeks after the eval. Both appointments were done via video call. Right after the initial phone call, I received a portal link via email where I could see my future appointments and fill out an intake document. The document's format made it tricky to fill out, but not enough so to deduct a star. They send text and email reminders for all appointments. A couple days before each appointment, I received a link via text to the telehealth room. The system worked great with no issues. Both the evaluators and Dr. Colvin-Guthrie were kind and professional. You can really tell that they review your information before the appointment. I never felt any pressure or judgment and I felt comfortable sharing and asking queations. If requested, BHS will send you a copy of your records and fax them to the provider(s) of your choice. Overall, this was an incredibly positive and validating experience. If you are considering a mental health evaluation, I couldn't recommend BHS more!

The receptionist recommended I fill out the insurance verification forms and new patient paperwork prior to "save me time", as the receptionist said, so she could "check my insurance". I take time out of my work day and wait 15 minutes after checking in office to be told my insurance is not accepted. Incredibly disappointing, unorganized, and a waste of time. As a social worker in the area, this could have been prevented with quality customer service and practice training.
