Though I had many recommendations and referrals for other accountants, I chose to work with Rose because I chose to specifically support a woman and minority owned business. One piece of advice from Erin Benzakein from Floret about hiring a bookkeeper and accountant was that if you feel dumb or awful after meeting with either, then it's time for you to hire a new accountant/bookkeeper. I was having a hard time managing my own bookkeeping and was inquiring about this service. I met with Tara and she was condescending, defensive, and was gaslighting me when I started crying on the call after she went on a diatribe about the importance of bookkeeping. I also disagreed with her statement that "Bookkeeping is the backbone of your business." Unfortunately, Rose was also on the call and there wasn't any intervention. Last year we had Jesse and his demeanors, though professional, aren't the most friendly (there was a subtle trace of impatience for some reason). Anyway, we are very happy about Deborah and have already made our appointment with her for next year! Once you find a tax pro you like, having your tax done by H&R Block is actually a decent choice. Their fees may not the be lowest, but is definitely acceptable.

"Penny wise and pound foolish" is the phrase that comes to mind…read more Yeah, I saved money by going there, but I had such a low confidence level, that I ended up chewing up more of my time going through all of it, and eventually resubmitting. The only reason I went to H&R Block was because they were 60% less than the real business tax accountant that had been recommended to me. My wife and I had used this H&R store a few times for our personal taxes, with moderate results, but it turns out that business taxes are another game altogether. It was time consuming, and I don't fault the guy that worked with me; he tried as best he could to get through all the paperwork, forms, and on and on. I'll go with the proper tax accounting company next year. More activity on my side, and risking an audit just isn't worth it to save a few hundred bucks. Lesson learned.
