The complex is beautifully manicured especially since its on the Fox River…read more The view is superb from the full side windows( however chilly in the cold winter months because of poor insulation). The residents are friendly and for the most part kind. The Christmas Get Together and Dinner are a cut above, catered by Rosatis Restaurant. The New manager, an employee of the development company seems very competent, caring, and eager to help. One can overlook the negative comment on the sites website. The staff has been changed and I might say, this is indeed a long needed necessity. The apartments are pricey and rent raised every year a hefty amount. There are extra charges for water, trash pick up and garage which increase often.

Maybe a few glitches but that is normal for anywhere. You deal with it and get over it. It is mostly all positive. The facilities are really nice in the prairie style architecture and the up keep and cleaning of the buildings are very good. The location is amazing on the western edge of downtown Waukesha, therefore within walking distance of the library and all of the downtown amenities of restaurants, galleries, shopping, farmers market in summer, and discount liquor, etc. The views from all apartments overlooks the Fox River and Bethesda Springs Park. It is an amazing calming place to live. This also gives opportunity for lots of trail walking or jogging or bicycling. There are 5 separate buildings which means you only have about 30 other units in your building so they are basically very quiet. It is a mix of seniors or singles or young couples/partners/roommates. But we have had no noise in our unit. Very quiet!! We have been very impressed and happy living here and if it was not of our need to go into a senior facility, we would continue to live here as we really enjoy it. The property is well kept with the summer landscaping crew, as well as the winter snow clearing crew which is right on top of any snow fall. We enjoy the heated lower level parking garage and the recycling dumpster is there too. The trash dumpsters are out back. Dogs are allowed on the 1st floor and cats on any floor. We have had no issues with either. Maintenance is right there if any issue arises in your unit or if you point out some issue on the property. The maintenance technician is very knowledgeable and will accommodate you and fix anything you need. All the staff is VERY pleasant and agreeable and provides at least a Christmas party and summer grill out party each year. There is also Bunko 2 times a month. The community center is available to rent for your private parties. This is one of the best and enjoyable units we have been in since we sold our house. D and D

What was cool: - a cord in the bathroom that residents can pull if they are in trouble, an alarm sounds alerting neighbors that someone is in trouble - a giant fish tank and fireplaces in the lobby/center of the complex - a full calendar with things to do almost every day! (games, exercises, church things, etc.) - nice areas with table and books to read, also saw people doing puzzles! - a bus that stops at some local stores (e.g. Sendiks) - a cute little chapel on the first floor - a small convenience store on the first floor that residents procure and sell the inventory for necessity type items - the option to always get a meal for a very reasonable price for seniors who can't or do not want to cook - a hair salon on-site! - friendly residents - super friendly manager, Beth, was absolutely wonderful!!! Rent was in the $600's for a one bedroom and $800's for two. There are about 134 units and they always seem to be at full capacity and have an on-going waitlist. If you or your loved one are considering, at least get on the waitlist asap so that you'll get the call when an apartment becomes available! You can stay on the list if you pass on the first call. Secure your spot with a down payment. Nice place and great options for lots of loving seniors :)

So many "Senior Apartments" are just that apartments to go to when your current living situation is too large or just plain too expensive. The staff at Clare Meadows has succeeded in creating a welcoming home environment. There is as much privacy as you like, or you can be as involved as you want to be. The activities and amenities are superb. Beth Nacker, the manager at Clare Meadows, is one of the most efficient and caring people I have ever met. She manages Clare Meadows with kindness, consideration and has succeeded in making this environment a loving home, not just an apartment setting. There is never a problem that isn't remedied immediately. John, the maintenance person, is one of the most knowledgeable and caring people I have ever met. His "can do" attitude is wonderful!! The residents that have chosen to make Clare Meadows their home are amazing. I don't know how Joe, the owner, and Beth have managed to put together such a group. It is a true community in every sense of the word. There is always a friendly atmosphere, whether just a greeting in the hall or a welcoming gesture to all new arrivals. Thanks to the Joe, Beth and John for making this a true home, and not just a place to live in. You are helping to keep us seniors, young and involved!!

The same problems that plagued this property since I have lived here have just gone unchecked. The…read moreamount of dog waste, zero visitor parking available ever, and just all-around calamity seems to persist here. It is a sincere shame that no attempts have been made to sincerely improve this property. Everything seems to be a cosmetic fix a Band-Aid to bigger problems. My appliances and fixtures are all original. My windows and doors leak. I'm basically heating or cooling Hales Corners, depending on the season. My garage has standing water in it anytime it rains or snows. The wood around the property is rotting ; instead of fixing it. They painted over it to make it appear nice. The long-standing theme here at plum tree is to put a Band-Aid over problems until they become humongous challenges and it is deeply frustrating to have massive rent increases with zero attention paid to the infrastructure of this property, everything in my previous review regarding the challenges still holds true today a decade later. The only difference is they built a playground a special sidenote, they also seem to hire the cheapest contractors on the planet. Everything is done half assed. I currently have large amounts of dead leaves all over the front of my doorway, it's February. We haven't had dead leaves since the fall. They do such a poor job, maintaining the property and charge a premium to live here. The only way anything gets updated is if it literally burns down which is extremely disappointing. i've had multiple infestations of wasps that went ignored by their pest control guy. It actually got so bad I had to flee my apartment with my small dog because it was so bad. I had wasps entering my apartment and aggressively attacking me. their pest control person refused to do anything beyond the basics, literally looked around and said, I don't see any nests inside of my apartment. after calling corporate multiple times they were finally Able to get someone on the roof and found not one massive but two massive nests. It took 3 1/2 months to get someone to listen to me. Repairs tend to be bare minimum at best. It takes a Holiday miracle to get anything replaced. It's one thing to be frugal it's another thing to be chintzy.

In unit laundry although small units Spacious room sizes the cosmetics are a little outdated yet I would rather have a larger room than a 6 panel door's. Sometimes (only a few times) you can hear next door but it's nothing to bothersome. They ask that you do run your appliances after 8am and before 9pm. After being at this apartment for 2 years we were looking for a new place and needed to extend our lease for a few months because of closing date on our new house. They jacked our rent up $500 dollars a month.
