It has two levels, upstairs is kitchen & bathrooms. Downstairs is general DIY, paint tools etc. I find it in the middle of the Market when it comes to price & quality of goods. At Xmas they have a good selection of lights etc. As a bonus they do give nectar points with purchases & the staff always ask if you have a card so as not to miss out if you collect them. Fair sized car park with easy access to local bypass & main routes. It's very close to a couple of discount carpet places & that particular area is being developed with two new super Market superstores. Preferred store for me in this area.

The ground floor has the mens section, jewellery section and makeup section. There's games as well here and some ladies hats and scarves. The first floor is ladies clothing and the second is houseware. The top floor has the restaurant and childrens department. It's a nice store, I have yet to be dissapointed with it, there are often huge reductions towards sale time! It's good to visit when the local warehouse store or topshop store has ran out of your size! The restaurant food is ok, fair prices but nothing special really. Just the usual soup, sausages, beans thing. It does serve an all day breakfast I think that's promoted throughout the store. The staff here are really helpful and friendly they'll chat with anyone any age about what they're buying or what they're up to and the makeup staff are really helpful and knowledgeable about their aimed product. Generally this is a very nice store, easily accesible from the main high street or the hill street centre.

Its well laid out as in you can see everything set out well on the shelves etc but can be a nightmare to maneuover on a busy day such as a Saturday morning! That said the staff are very well trained in good customer service and nothing seems to be too much trouble. Lakeland take all the usual cards and cash and while there is plenty of party around Northallerton, again on busy days such as Saturday or Wednesday (market day) it can be very hard to get parked nearby the store.

The staff are very friendly, but not in your face, and will gladly answer any questions you may have. The store is laid out quite well although during a busy period it is quite difficult to get into the store, as everyone tends to go in about 10 feet and stop to look at things. As a long term customer of Lakeland I will find it a refreshing change to have a store in my home town, as I will be able to go and look at things first hand and buy them there and then if they are appropriate - rather than waiting for them to be delivered.

I must admit that I practically only buy from here in a sale time and have managed to pick some good deals. Word of advice If you shop here and its not a sale time then before you agree a sale ask what the price has been or would be in sale time and from there you need to haggle down. If you don't ask you won't get I bought an Italian leather sofa and a piece of the stitching came loose after about one year and I was worried that they might not cover this but to my delight it was no problem for them what so ever. The customer service dept was extremely polite and apologetic, they made speedy arrangements for a specialist to come out and look at the problem and to my surprise he even repaired it there and then. Very good quality Excellent customer services Fair priced but can knock down when not in sale period

Have to admit, I prefer the branch at Coulby Newham, but maybe that's just because I'm more familiar with it. They sell all kinds of bargains, from household items and kitchenware, to toys and games. They also sell bedding, and I've been lucky and bought children's character duvet sets here for about £9.99 when they were over £15 everywhere else! They also stock food items - mostly tinned food, or coffee or biscuits, the kind of thing that doesn't really go off. You will generally find these food items are a little closer to their sell by dates than you would get in the big supermarkets, but they are nevertheless still within the dates, so ok to use, and much cheaper.
