It is super child friendly, just borrow a cart, put your little kids in there, the bigger ones will be happy to walk and discover on their own. Typical visit takes 1-3 hours, starts or ends with fries from the kiosk. There are many things to touch and feel, the electric fence is not one of them, but even that is not causing any damage. Avoid larger groups of children or any organized events, if you love to enjoy the silence in the forest. A little airport is not far, causing some noise with the airplanes in good weather. What is missing most is some kind of convenient public transport to come here without a car.
Update: I had to take down some stars, because 1. They close sometimes way too early without notice. You stay there at the entrance with disappointed kids, you know what is it like. 2. They didn't send any answer to my email about the unexpected early close. 3. On weekends it's overcrowded, you won't even find a parking place in reasonable distance. read more
