I had originally intended to adopt two black cat sisters, but they have another sister, a Torti. After cuddling with her, we decided to adopt her as well. Emily got back to us super fast and gave us a private appointment to view their cats via zoom. We paid the adoption fee that day and by the end of the week, we went to pick up our kittens, after they were spayed. Little Paws of Mt. Vernon is a wonderful organization. Upon entry you are greeted by zero welcome vibes. We were seen rather quickly so in about 10 minutes called back. The vet came in barely glanced at it and said "oh that's a tumor" then he put his gloves on and actually looked at it, pushing it rather hard making Bella hurt and meow in pain , he had no soothing words of comfort or kindness towards her. He went into the back and got a shot of antibiotic, shot it in her neck and then said "it may be an abscess , you will know in about a week. If it goes down it's an abscess if it doesn't it's a tumor. Then sent us home with antibiotics. He never lanced it or cleaned it , didn't even spray peroxide on it. Turns out it was an abscess thank goodness. But I would go elsewhere if you empathy towards your animal is important to you.

I will have to say I'm very disappointed with St. Francis. My dog has been going there off & on…read more for almost 10 yrs, I buy her monthly flea medicine there every month! I had to take her to Lakeside hospital at the end of December for an ulcer in her eye. She needed a follow up by her vet after a week. I call SF & was told that they were scheduling 2 weeks out & should try and get into see someone else. After calling around to try to get my sweet dog seen by a vet ASAP it was still going to take weeks with someone else. I called back to St. Francis to schedule an appointment for my sweet girl and was rudely told since she had not been seen in a certain amount of time that she would be considered a new patient and that I needed to find a new veterinarian!
