Had a ME day today with some breakfast and sports betting. Great time and was taking care of by Zach and TJ. Professional and efficient service by both. Ordered the BYO omelette and tots and wheat toast. Super delicious. Coffee was good also. Played the leprechaun Keno... paid out pretty good but dumped it all back in. Won on Dodgers. Great TV's to watch sports and customer service is great and friendly. Even the security guard came by to say hi... good times.

We loved the location and being able to walk around The District and the Casino. The food court was nice: options for everyone such as Irv's burgers (awesome fries), a pizza place, Panda Express, Capriotti's sandwiches and an Ice cream place to name a few. It's worth the extra few miles to come to a casino where the employees are happy and the video poker machines actually work; consistently. They FINALLY fixed the escalator that goes from the Food Court to the Movie Theatre and Arcade! That was down literally for years but it's working again now. They replaced Fat Burger with Irv's Burgers. I don't have an opinion on Fat Burger but Hubby and I LOVE Love love Irv's Burgers. I get the Butter Dog; it is SO good, it needs no condiments whatsoever. Easy peasy eating. Hubby has enjoyed the Chili Cheese Dog, the Hot Dog and several of their burgers. We usually play at the Drop Bar. We LOVE Stephanie; we are also happy when Aaron is bartending. The machines are friendly enough to allow us to play for hours. We've tried the Lobby Bar but the barstools are too short for the height of the bar; I'm not physically comfortable there. Restrooms are always clean -- which is not true at The M. The video poker machines are large and new; not at all blurry like the pitiful old machines at the South Point. Parking is easy. Lots of restaurants within walking distance if nothing inside the casino suits. Movie theatre. Arcade. Food court. We did take four pastries home recently and were disappointed in all four of them, so I guess I don't recommend their bakery. Otherwise, five stars all the way. So glad to be back.

The hotel has always been a favorite of ours not just because of the food choices and great sports book. Erik is usually the one to bring up our luggage when we arrive and the one to bring down our luggage when sadly we have to leave. He always has a smile on his face offering to get us anything that we should need during our stay. I hope you know how lucky you are to have these four gentlemen working for you. This building was a grocery store providing food to the hungry individuals of "company town." First off, what's "company town!" It was the Basic Magnesium Company that helped fuel the development during World War II. Now just the folds of history . We must remember the past to see the future. What's in a rainbow? Only all our dreams and aspirations. When you see the outside of this building it's truly amazing and inspiring. In fact the mural has deep roots and meaning to the community. This mural is meant to tell a different tale. The artist that painted this mural was Ozzy Villante. In fact this mural he quotes, "wisdom and knowledge are at the end of this rainbow, not a pot of gold." The mural in every bit of its core incorporates the city of Henderson going all the way back to the war effort to symbolize the great American culture of America and all its people and literacy. For if example you cannot understand you cannot ever comprehend. The power of art and color has brought this building to life. While you gamble and try to make your dreams come true inside the casino. Outside was what drew my attention. And the fact the word "rainbow," was in the title of course. While you can gamble and play all sorts of games inside. Come out and see the rainbow. In fact be the rainbow for someone!

We did see luggage carts upon checkout so we used those then. Overall, the room was clean, cozy, and the cigarette smoke stayed down in the casino. Price was reasonable as well. Once inside, it was bad! One hour-later when we left, the stench of cigarette smoke was still on our clothing. That was the biggest negative for a non-smoking group of ten like our group. The casino is old but fun with a nice mix of colder and newer slot machines. The machines were DEFINITELY tight as only one person in our group won money and that was a whopping $37.00. The rest of us left the casino having had fun but now we all smelled like cigarettes and with less money in our pockets. The entire staff here were friendly and polite. Parking was avail and free in the casino's private parking lot. I don't know that I would ever visit this casino as this was perhaps my one and only visit to the area but also as a result of the strong cigarette smoke which is a challenge for a non smoker like myself

We visited Hilton Lake Las Vegas in early August for a 4-day long weekend. It's a beautiful…read moreproperty with gorgeous lake views, but there are definitely a few things I wish I had known before visiting--especially during the August off-season. Getting there: We had a surprisingly difficult time finding an Uber willing to drive us the 30-40 minutes from LAS around 9pm. We waited almost 40 minutes and had drivers cancel on us. We eventually learned that many drivers prefer to stay closer to the Strip, so keep that in mind if you're arriving later in the evening without a rental car. Check-in: Unfortunately, our first impression wasn't great. As Hilton Gold members, we're accustomed to a certain level of welcome at Hilton properties, but the woman who checked us in was quite short and rude with us. The resort is massive. We were able to get a room overlooking the lake, which was beautiful, but be prepared to walk! We counted 10 hallways from the elevator to our room--and that doesn't include the lower-level hallways from the lobby to the elevator. August is definitely off-season. Staffing appeared limited and some amenities opened later than normally advertised. For example, the pool bar normally opens at 11am but opened at noon during our stay. Breakfast was good and they offer a buffet if you like having plenty of options. Service was a little slow during our visit. The pool was one of the highlights. They had lifeguards on duty who were great, and we really enjoyed spending the day at the pool and interacting with them and the pool bar staff once the bar opened. The property itself has tons of beautiful photo opportunities. It feels elegant and classy, although some areas and the rooms are definitely dated. We were told they are currently renovating the guest rooms one floor at a time, starting with the higher floors, which I think will make a big difference. There is an outdoor sandy beach area, but unfortunately it wasn't open during our visit because of the algae/water conditions. You can easily walk to MonteLago Village, where there's a market/deli with most of the basics you may need along with several restaurants. This was especially convenient since we didn't have a car. If you prefer to stay onsite, there's also a lobby bar. We had great service there and really enjoyed chatting with the bartender and manager. Now for the biggest issue for us--the AC. It was really warm throughout the property, including the hallways, and our room never seemed to cool down enough. We didn't sleep particularly well because of the heat, and I'm someone who normally runs cold! In August, reliable AC is pretty important. There's also a beautiful walking path around the property. Early morning before the temperatures climb is the perfect time to enjoy it, and I loved the water views. We obviously expected Arizona/Nevada heat visiting in August, and overall we still enjoyed our long weekend. The setting really is beautiful and it feels like you're much farther away from Las Vegas than you actually are. I'd like to come back when the weather is cooler and the renovated rooms are completed. With more consistent AC and the property fully operating outside of the summer off-season, I think our experience could be very different.

Time to share my two cents before they pass on…read more The Pass Casino, formerly Eldorado, sits right next to Rainbow Club in Downtown Henderson, making them a convenient stop if you're looking to hit up multiple casinos. They're also being bought by the owners of Rainbow Club and nearby sister casino Emerald Island, so the easy double-dip of two differing systems of casino promotions is going away soon. Although it may have changed lately, a modest level of slots play was good enough for $10 food vouchers and $5 free play twice a week. I've addressed the specific restaurants in the individual business listings, but the ability to get free food in this economy can't be overlooked. And they also recently resumed a program to let you exchange comp points for gasoline vouchers, with multiple valid Conoco locations around the valley. Free fuel, baby! They also have weekly promos including wheel spins ($500 max; I've hit the $75 or $100 more than once), gifts (some better than others), and other small prizes or drawing chances. And their other less-frequent events can be worth it; I even won their slot tournament once. The slot machine selection itself has enough of a variety, although obviously less overall than big casinos. At least they've added some newer games every so often, especially seeming to rotate in newer Light & Wonder games quite a bit. Last, but not least, most of the casino staff have been friendly and helpful. I'll miss seeing a lot of their faces behind the "Player's Junction" desk after the end of this month So long and happy trails, The Pass. Hopefully their sister property Railroad Pass will still feel close enough to the same thing, although they're not as conveniently located.
