We made the 25-minute drive from Cookeville based on a friend's recommendation--and we're so glad…read morewe did! The short hike up to the overlook took about 5 minutes, and the view at the top is absolutely breathtaking. It's a great little adventure and well worth the drive. I was wearing sandals and made it just fine, but I'd definitely recommend closed-toe shoes for better grip and safety. Also--don't forget the bug spray! We got bit by some gnat-type bugs while taking in the view. Can't wait to come back when the weather cools down. It's one of those spots that's beautiful now and will be even more amazing in the fall.

We drove from Hendersonville Tn to Bee Rock Overlook 11/4/2025 that took us over two hours. When we…read morearrived there were people warning about the Asian Lady Bugs. They were covered and trying to knock them off before getting in their car. We walked up to the overlook anyway since we drove so far. Man, they weren't kidding! There were swarms of these things everywhere. It was awful and we had our dog with us. While I was getting the dog back in our truck these pests were all around and a bunch got inside the cab. We had them flying around inside the cab on the way home and even finding more the next day. Not a fun day at Bee Rock. If the lady bugs weren't there it would be a nice place to see, a very short walk to the overlook but a little tricky in a couple of spots. I had to photoshop the swarming bugs out of these pictures.

Party of four dining out to celebrate a birthday on a Saturday evening. What a total…read moredisappointment! Two of us were planning on having salmon and one of us the catfish dinner. They were out of catfish and only had one order of salmon left. So, one person ordered the salmon. Another ordered the chicken strip basket. Another ordered the grilled chicken breast sandwich. And the other person ordered the grilled chicken breast dinner. Some time after our order the server came out and told us there was only enough chicken breast for the dinner. So, the sandwich order was changed to the chicken strip basket. It took quite a while for us to get our orders and then the server announced that the salmon order had somehow not been placed! While 3 of us had our dinners, the 4th person had nothing, not even salad, until she asked for that while she waited for her dinner. The chicken breast was quite tough and when mentioned to the server, she said "you should have asked for a steak knife"! Not much for apologies and had to pay 12$ for a piece of carrot cake for the birthday boy! It was dark when we left and no lighting on the ramp up to the parking lot and very poor lighting in the lot. An accident waiting to happen!

GOLF SNOBS BEWARE If you want ideal conditions, perfect…read moregreens and PGA quality everywhere this course is not for you and please stay away. But if you want someplace to hone your game with real people who care and a price you can afford, this place is for you. Yes it is your basic rural golf course with sand greens and some ragged places on site. It is also priced right and has several levels of play. The front nine is just right for the beginning to intermediate player. The front nine does reward good play but does not inflict pain upon mishits. The second, third and eighth hole encourages target golf and is a prelude to the back nine where the good to experienced player is challenged by target golf at its best with the fourteenth through seventeenth having bite if you do not place your shot in the right spot at the right distance. In short you can get yourself ready to play the type of courses that only the GOLF SNOBS play. This course is in the second year of upgrading and you will enjoy if you like golf.
