Upon arrival, we were greeted by personnel at the lobby entrance who directed us towards the ushers, who awaited ticketed patrons at the theater doors. As you enter the actual performance theater, the seating arrangement becomes visually pleasing towards the stage. I found the seating to be quite comfortable and roomy, where people could actually get by, without you having to stand to allow them to past. There's also a concession area for refreshments which is a nice touch, if so desire. This theater brought great pleasure to a wonderful evening.

It's a great size for a small dramatic performance. There are restrooms on both sides and, like all theaters, a concession stand for drinks (alcoholic and non-alcoholic) and snacks. The automated ticket readers worked perfectly and it was easy to locate our seats. The seats were comfortable and had just the right amount of space between the rows to avoid having to stand every time someone passed by. The set (for Trouble In Mind) was amazingly realistic and helpful to understanding the play. The talent was outstanding too. However, the on-stage talent projects their voices without technical amplification, making it difficult to hear their lines at times. We were engrossed in the acting so much, that the 2-hours seemed to fly by. Afterwards, there was an informal reception in the lobby with food (because it was Opening Night). A very nice touch. Overall, it was a positive experience, and one that we would repeat.

Wedding Rentals Beware. I hate to write this review. Initially this place came highly recommended…read more The feedback was that they took great care to provide high quality items for events and we felt safe using them for our wedding. Our initial impression was "good customer service and excited to see the products come together" Sadly, there were some issues that soured our experience and then a big fumble on the wedding day. 1st: Don't be fooled, it's the shipping and delivery that gets you. They show on their quotes a delivery charge, but when going through the line items you'll see.an additional "after hours delivery charge" which is for any delivery after their standard hours of 8am-5pm. Not sure how many weddings fit that window. About 1/3 of our bill was fees and delivery charges. So there are at a minimum of 2 different delivery charges. 2nd. They fumbled at the goal line. On the wedding day, they didn't delivery 2 and a half tables worth of the plates we rented and were missing a table cloth. (1 plate was broken but that's an accident I won't beat them up too bad for). This meant they had to strip a cocktail hour table... in the middle of cocktail hour... to put together a table for the reception. Along with the embarrassment of the fact that two + of our tables were shotty looking and out of place. When I called to see what they could do, they were apologetic and did give us the equivalent to an 11% refund. Which, while a nice gesture, doesn't feel appropriate considering the event. Ending on a good note they are very friendly and do take care of active duty military (the reason for the 3rd star). But sadly for this, event they missed the mark.

Michael was the BEST! He truly loves his job! We wanted someone to do more than play music. We…read morewanted someone to engage our guests and get them involved without telling them to do stuff. We wanted someone to capture our day and make everyone in the room feel loved and wanted and to share in the joy we feel for each other. When we hired Michael, we knew he would do an amazing job, BUT..... he more than exceeded our expectations! He took the time to get to know us and our story. He memorized information. He was present in the room, but let the celebration be the center of the excitement. He weaved our recordings into a song for our grandparents and our parents and captured our feelings without us being a teary mess on our big day. Every single guest that was present cried happy tears and each one told us how much they truly enjoyed our wedding, most saying it was the best wedding they'd ever been to. Thanks to Michael, our wedding day will not soon be forgotten by anyone present! We wanted everyone to leave the reception feeling loved. Michael helped us capture that. Many people who said they had to leave early ended up staying til the end. We ended up having an early ending to our ceremony and Michael didn't stress.... he just went with the flow and had every other vendor on board and none of our guests missed a beat. For any future gathering of family, we are going to have Michael join us again! I cannot say enough how grateful we are that we hired him! The owner contacted me VERY quickly (she was even on vacation!) to confirm everything and see if I had questions. We then confirmed a time and location to meet our princess. Wendy was Tinkerbell for us and she did a WONDERFUL job. She was SO sweet and read a story to the kids. She also sang a song (great voice!) and answered every question the kids had. She even sat with my little one and sang happy birthday and even shared a birthday cupcake with her! She was so great and relaxed with all the kids. They kept asking afterward when she would come back! Also, I heard from an employee later that as she was walking out after our party another younger girl saw her and was amazed. Wendy noticed her and went over and talked to her while staying in character. The little girl was completely over the moon and told the other staff member that Tinkerbell was her favorite and she had never met her before! Overall, WONDERFUL job. Our experience with Castleton Farms was beyond excellent. I was planning the wedding long distance…read morefrom Los Angeles, which could have been a nightmare, but the Castleton staff, specifically Darla and Christy, were there for me at all hours any day of the week, providing the ultimate support in whatever capacity I needed it. The venue itself is magnificent, straight out of Southern Living. I looked at venues in LA, New York, Nashville and in East Tennessee; Castleton was my top choice because of its physical presentation, the excellent reputation of its planning and production services, and its geographic nearness to my elderly family members. It was the total package with multiple gorgeous venues on property (we had the whole property for the weekend, but there are various packages and a good price range), built in wedding planning, superb day-of production, as little or as much hand holding as you want, and a selection of established, quality vendors who already have relationships and extensive experience with the property. I was looking for a venue similar to South Carolina's Boone Hall Plantation; Castleton Farms blows the Boone Hall Plantation out of the water. The thing that most impressed me was the Castleton staff, particularly on the wedding weekend. There were 9 million details I should have already worked out but hadn't, and the staff bent over backwards to make sure that all 9 million of those details were worked out and executed to perfection. Christy was absolutely amazing; she is a superwoman in the world of wedding, always there when I needed anything but magically also in 30 other places at once, effortlessly clearing every potential disaster like she was born to do it. The golf cart drivers were on their toes, shuttling grandparents and older friends and family around the venue, and the security was absolutely incredible. I cannot recommend them more highly; they went above and beyond in every way. The staff service and staff coordination were absolutely impeccable. Darla, the Executive Director, is the heart and soul of this venue and is the genius mastermind behind the magic that is Castleton. There was no issue too big or too small for her; she earned my full confidence months before the wedding and solved every problem I had before I even knew I had it. She runs a very tight ship and is worth a thousand times her weight in gold; she is the force of nature that sets this venue above and beyond any other. I could not recommend this venue more highly, and I can also heartily recommend the following of the vendors they use: All Occasions Catering (Kelly blew it out of the water, was the best vendor contact we had), All Occasions Rentals, Waldorf Photographic Art (Shawn was awesome). If you are looking for great music, I can also highly recommend the harp trio we used for the ceremony, Farr Horizons, and the bluegrass/country band we used for the reception, WestWend.
