No one likes to be in pain or sick & end up in the hospital, especially on their birthday. I'm sharing part of a text my sweet mom sent me during her stay. "I was awaken at 1am for b.p. & the staff on duty 6 or 7 came into my room and sang Happy Birthday to me. The nurse yesterday, I talked to her a lot. I could have a good friendship with her, we just connected. They are always so nice here." Since I couldn't be up there with my mom during her last stay, it sure made me feel good to know what caring, sweet staff/nurses on night duty that took care of my mom in room 307. I don't know if they realize the impact this made on my mom & my self but I'm truly thankful for the people who have these jobs that greatly deserve them, I'm thankful to God for u all. I imagine it is extremely stressful at times & difficult to be cheerful. So thank u for taking the time to make a sweet little old lady, feel special! Your kindness & empathy will be repaid one day when u least expect it. I don't know who the ladies & or men were, but I wanted to acknowledge u here. Two times last night my 9-year-old, who just had her tonsils removed 4 days ago, woke up unable to…read morebreathe. I've never been so afraid in my entire life by the look of terror in her eyes as she gripped me and gasped repeatedly for air. The first time I thought maybe she was just having a panic attack, which she's never had before, but she had the symptoms. I stayed calm and instructed her to practice deep breathing, and after 10-15 minutes we got through it and she was able to go to sleep. But then about an hour later she woke up again doing the same thing. I immediately threw clothes on us both and took the 4 minute drive to the ER at Kell West Regional Hospital. We checked in about 2:20 AM and I let them know what was going on. I had her lie down on a bench and, fortunately, she was able to go back to sleep while we waited. Over 2 1/2 hours later, at 5 AM, she still had not been called back to a room, triaged, or checked on at all. I knew once we did eventually get to a room it would be at least an hour or longer before we'd be seen, and at this point she had woken up and seemed a lot better, so I decided to just go home so we could get some good rest and make an appt with her doctor a few hours later. Had we gotten home and she had another episode, I would have just called 911. At least that way paramedics would make sure she was taken care of in a timely manner. I'm not normally one to publicly complain like this, but I feel it is important to let others know so they don't make the same mistake. We've been to Kell West a few times before and were always treated pretty unkindly, if not downright rudely, and we've never felt we got adequate care. I only went back because it was a short drive and I thought surely we would be assisted in a timely manner based on her condition. This was the final straw for me. I'm sending in a complaint to Texas Health & Human Services, and I refuse to ever step foot in there again. Honestly, I don't even know if their neglect is illegal or not, but it very well should be. You take a child to the ER telling them she literally cannot breathe and they don't even send someone to take a couple minutes to check on her?! Absolutely absurd and inhumane. Thank God she is OK! I prayed over and over the whole time. Her doctor prescribed her a steroid to help the swelling go down and she is finally breathing somewhat normally now. Shame on you, Kell West!!!

I know this hospital gets a bad rap a lot but that is purely anecdotal evidence. In my experience with medical care, 99% of bad experience is patient induced. The entire 4th floor staff are amazing. Basically I was doing it all alone, no family, no friends, nada. I started getting labor pains and drove myself to the hospital. The nurses and the doctors were super nice and helpful, and they treated me very well. While I was laboring and after I gave birth, the nurses, doctors, midwives, and staff were always there to help me when I needed them. They answered any question I had, helped me with my baby, helped me get up and out of bed, reminded me when it was time to feed my baby, and even helped when I needed to go to the restroom. At one point I even forgot to call in my room service to order my dinner in time. But guess what? The room service cafeteria staff called ME instead to make sure I wasn't forgetting my meal. How awesome is that?! They even offered and said I can stay an extra day if I felt like I needed it. I wasn't sure what to expect using the hospital's services but throughout my whole pregnancy, before, during, and after, they have always gone out of their way to help me (and still continue). So far I have dealt with the pharmacy, immunization, OBGYN, X-Ray, lab, progressive care unit, and their pediatric clinic there. Even though I was doing it all alone I felt like I had family there taking care of me. So if you are expecting a baby and are not sure whether to use this hospital I definitely recommend it. I had some services done at the Comanche County Memorial Hospital and in my opinion I prefer going to the Army Reynolds hospital hands down. I don't regret my decision at all in giving both here.

Went to the doctors with my nephew having extreme leg pain (he couldn't even stand) and they said…read morethat he needs to go to the E.R. with that intense of pain. We got there, did the check in and it was fine until the P.A. named Monika just says "What are do they expect us to do?"... How promising. He's 9, in pain and the P.A. says right in front of him that they don't know what to do. Thank God, everything came out clear for him, but that P.A. was insensitive and clearly put out she didn't know what she was doing. However, the nurse named, Michael and the phlebotomist (I'm sorry, we don't remember her name) was excellent.

This is the worst clinic I've ever been too, the receptionist is not motivated nor could care less…read moreif you have any worries other then check in and the nurses try to get away with work by calling your name vary quietly KNOWING there are elders. I had to do her job for her and call the persons name at a tone EVERYONE can hear.... This clinic need to fire everyone and put someone in charge to hire people who actually care to be a help even if you sit on a desk stapling paper work and taking names.
