I ordered and received four packages of Italian bees from Wilbanks apiaries. The process was straightforward and simple. I picked up the packages and what was a very orderly process. The packages are now hives and are going strong and overflowing. I have used Wilbanks apiaries in the past, and they have always given me the same service and quality product, strong, healthy bees, I have also used others in the state and I feel that Wilbanks is a better producer with a better service and therefore I will use them again if needed read more

I have purchased bee packages from here and lost them or had them stolen. Not the fault of this company. I have been purchasing Tupelo honey from them since I quit trying to raise my own bees/aviary. I'm fine with Willibanks! I travel there from Lyons,GA. Today they were closed with signage on the door reading "Out running Errands for 20 minutes". I waited then decided to go to Tractor Supply and come back. When I returned the signage on the door read, "Out to Lunch"! I looked around for someone/anyone for more info. The warehouse was wide open with not a soul in sight. The back of the main building had the door wide open with not a soul in sight. I called out Hello and Olla. No response. 9 or more cars/trucks in the dirt/gravel parking lot. There is NO EVIDENCE of any BIOSECURITY here!!!! I will not be back!​​​ read more

We have had the bees about a month now. they seem to be doing great .the queen is laying , making honey,storing pollen. things are great. about a week ago i noticed small hive beetles, cant say the came with the bees though. i believe they came from the location i had them in, under a tree with the sun shining on them around 9:30 every morning. i moved them about a week ago , they seem to be very active now. i would recomend wilbank apiaries , give them 5 stars. read more

We purchased 6 three pound packages in January, expecting shipment April as stated on the flyer, but when I placed my order, I was told May. The shipment was delayed, and we received our bees June 7. That evening, I used a 10 frame hive, but only put in 5 frames, painting the undrawn foundations with honey. I took the plywood off the package and set the entire package (bees, syrup, queen and wooden box) into the 10 frame hive. I used a strong magnet to lift the syrup can out and the queen cage out. Closed the lid, and top fed with honey. One of the hives, I messed up and the queen out, which leads me to my complaints. They use a funny queen cage with a metal disk stapled to the end. The metal disk made it easy to remove the queen cage from the package with a magnet, but more difficult to remove the queen from the queen cage. The only way that the bees could escape by eating the candy was if you removed the metal disk which was stapled on pretty darn good. So, I just used the metal disk to hang the queen cage in the hives. When I released the queens a day or so later, I basically ripped the screen off the queen cage. My biggest complaint was that the packages had plenty of small hive beetles. I would say 15-20 beetles per package. Make sure that you are prepared with pest management supplies. Now for the good stuff. We went back into the hives a couple days later, released the queen, retrieved the wooden box, and put in a few more undrawn frames. We kept feeding them honey as needed and watched them fly around. Five days later, we took our time and did a thorough hive inspection, and boy were we surprised. The bees were very strong. They had pulled out 5 or more frames per hive. They looked good. It appears that there are a variety of bees, meaning some looked smaller (younger) and there were older foragers. It appeared to be a pretty good mix. They didn't seem overly stressed or sickly. Overall, a very nice looking lot. I didn't see any mites. The queens looked good, and they were all well and accounted for. I wish I could give 4 1/2 stars. The only reason I gave 4 stars was because of the shipping delays and the small hive beetles. Other than that, I am super impressed. Although, I may not recommend package bees for new beekeepers. Try to get a local supplier to provide you with a nuc. But, if you are in the market for package bees, I highly recommend that you try Wilbanks Apiaries. I forgot to add this. All the work that I have done with these bees is without smoke. Yes, that's right. Without smoke. These bees are strong as a lion, but gentle as a kitten. read more

Do not buy from them.One of my packages arrivie witk the syrup can holes too small an most of the bees died.When I called they were totally uncooperative and hung up on me after saying it was my problem and they have never had this problem before. read more
