Especially for…read moremetro area that has highspeed fiber options, no limits, weather impacts, etc. We tried HughesNet for 12 months and after multiple calls to their customer support, they ran remote diagnostics with maximum 3 devices which worked. Not when kids home, IP cam, and WiFi thermostat connected. The 2nd call they said it was the weather. Found out small roof dish is affected by even slight rain/snow causing long latencies, dropped connections, etc. Even Youtube, Netflix, Amazon Prime, and security cams wouldn't stay connected. A real waste of money and many hours on multiple customer service calls. After canceling, l had less than 45 days to climb on roof (with 3 feet of snow & ice) to get their radio transmitter from dish (they installed) otherwise more equipment fees. Argh. DO NOT use HughesNet - especially when so many better options exist in the metro areas.

No apologizes, no communication about why no one came to install my internet. I was a new customer and I waited ALL DAY for them to show. Having just moved here, I had tons of things to accomplish and I wasted a whole day on these idiots and never once got an apology or an explanation. Needless to say I cancelled and went with Mid-Continent. They arrived the next day - ON TIME, early even!- and helped set everything up perfectly. A note to anyone getting internet or any service from CenturyLink... SKIP THEM! Go with Mid-Con if you value reliable service and friendly customer service.

I got incorrect information from the first rep I waited over 15 minutes for today who directed me online. I was unable to sign onto my mobile account and spent over 20 minutes waiting for the second rep. The second rep knew much more than the first rep and told me I couldn't have accomplished my goals online where the first rep had directed me to conduct my business. Maddeningly frustrating trying to make any Verizon changes. I stick with Verizon because my iPads are tied to Verizon for LTE and I'd need to purchase new iPads if I changed.
