Not because I received a…read morehideous haircut, but because I barely noticed a difference after tentatively handing over $120 for the less-than-pleasant experience. Moda Hair salon is seriously over-priced. They offer a range of options including extensions, straightening, highlights and your standard cut/colour/blow dry. Each one will leave a deep dent in your wallet, and a twinge of regret in your mind. Moda's pricing scheme also baffles me. I understand the child/ adult price range you encounter in most places (e.g. adult haircut= $20, child haircut= $10). But Moda's child/ teenager/ adult price differences seem a little weird. This pricing scheme means a cut, colour and blow-dry with cost $85 for teenagers, and $98 for adults. As well as the steep prices, service is slow, and employees often seem totally uninterested in what they're doing. Moda Hair does not offer the superior services their prices suggest. They should either lower their prices, or increase the quality of their services.

Before she cut my hair, she came in and swept up all the discarded hair on the floor from the 2 mature ladies there Friday arvo 29th May 2020. Then she washed my hair (not bad but water was a bit too hot and didn't notice me jump). She then proceeded to chat but when she showed me the back of my hair how she cut it, I was far too shocked to say anything but it looked dreadful. Having never, ever been treated this way in my entire adult life I paid the "pensioner" rate of $35 out of the original $45 quoted. I was booked in a month prior and waited patiently for my turn to have a lovely cut and experience and was duped. The mature ladies even ran up to stop the apprentice from answering the shop's phone when it rang and one said she would get it. I should have just walked out and not paid but that would look pretty nasty too.

So last week I popped in for a quick trim, and long-winded gossip session. Besides a few new faces, nothing has changed. Michael's is still is still a great salon, offering good value and a fun follicle experience.
