I love bbq and this restaurant has it pretty good. My favorite thing about this place is that each table has a place setting with 6 different types of bbq sauce to choose from. They are all delicious and I smother my pork sandwiches in them! Very good ribs too! I also like how it's pretty much serve yourself. The dining area is big and open and doesn't feel crowded at all. Very good ribs. Ask for them dry. There is 6 sauces on the table for your selection. Why not taste ribs first Mine were great without sauce. I love the slaw, not too sweet. Mayo type. Potato salad comes out of a 5 gallon bucket. Did not try. The ribs were fall off the bone tender, lean and the dry rub is perfect for my taste buds. I can see how they would win competitions with them. I would suggest these ribs to anyone. This review would be 5 stars if not for the bucket potato salad and the lack of fried okra as a side. We have always been fans of Whole Hog in Little Rock. We haven't eaten there in years, because we live in Dallas now. But we came home for the holidays and decided to try out Conway's Whole Hog. We were sorely disappointed. We spent a ton of money for our family to eat, so we expected a great meal. The quality, however, just wasn't there. The meat was dry (both the pork and the brisket) and the presentation was terrible. A pulled pork sandwich looks pretty crappy all by itself on an ugly, too-large dinner plate. The cheese on the nachos and the Hog Fries looks just like the nasty, cheap stuff you get at a ballpark. Not appetizing at all. The Mac and cheese was flat-out terrible. A box of Kraft Mac and cheese tastes better. The quality is just not at all what we remember. Very sad. read more

Based on the reviews I was expecting something substantially better. I I had the pulled pork and sausage. The pulled pork was not my first choice due to the fact they had run out of brisket. The pulled pork had very good flavor however both meats came out luke warm and not hot. The coleslaw had an odd flavor to it and I only ate 2 fork fulls. read more

The one in fayetteville is so much better it makes me sad. This one is located way out of sight and is a hassle to drive to. The wait times are longer than I'm used to. This is an Arkansas favorite that has expanded to other states, and it's certainly deserving of the praise. Honestly, the magic happens when you mix beef or pork with long hours of smoke and low heat from hardwoods. I honestly don't believe even the most discerning palates would be able to distinguish meats smoked with a different blend of hardwoods, more or less time in the smoker, dry rub v. brine, and so on and so on. I've never really had bad barbecue, so you have to look at other things for differentiation. For Whole Hog, the differentiation comes from two primary sources. The first is the six-pack of sauces on every table. It's a delight to try several before settling on your favorite. It's a wonderful sample of southern styles with sweet, spicy, and mustard based. There is no barbecue sauce (except McClard's) equivalent to Hienz Ketchup, one sauce to rule them all, so the ability to sample many to fit your choosing is a very welcomed change. The other thing that clearly separates Whole Hog from the rest is the potato salad. I can't speak to what all is in it, but it seams to be some combination of sour cream, ranch dressing, and cheese. It's so darn good, someone could make a fortune coming up with the Whole Hog Potato Salad chip. Yea, that would rock. Whole Hog has consistent quality in all locations, a tour of the great south available through its six-pack of sauces, and a potato salad not to be missed. The beans are good but nothing to write home about. If you haven't tried Whole Hot, I'm sure you won't be disappointed. It's usually one of the places I take visitors from outside the state, and they always rave about it. Whole Hog is one of the things we can be proud of as Arkansans. read more

My favorite BBQ in Central Arkansas, easily in my top 3 pick for the state as a whole. Pulled pork platter, on a bun (jumbo of course), hold the slaw, and my 2 sides? A double order of potato salad. As a general rule I HATE potato salad, all of "those salads" really, tuna, chicken, egg, etc. Thankfully someone convinced me to try their potato salad, and boy am I glad they did. That stuff is delicious, like no potato salad I've ever had. Their beans are pretty good too, but I always double up the potato salad. Pulled chicken is great too, but pork is my favorite. Their #1 traditional sauce, and the #5 molasses sauce are the best, I'll mix it up and go spicy every now and then with #2 too. I don't like any of their vinegar sauces, but then I don't like anyone's vinegar sauces. Man, now I'm hungry! read more

Better go early if you are interested in getting ribs. Seems they always run out early. Recently dined in with 2 other family members, spent almost $50. No forks to eat with when our food was ready. So asked register person for some. She acted like she was aggravated because I asked. Never did get a fork. When we were getting up to leave after eating with our knives, someone was just bringing some out to refill the containers. Never offered us one. There was no sweet tea the entire time we were there either. This was at 7:15 on a Saturday nite. Emailed management about these problems and was completely ignored. Won't be going back. read more

We stopped here on the way through town, late in the evening, because we knew it would be quick and easy. We usually go to the Whole Hog in Little Rock. Based on that alone, this place okay, but not very exciting. The location is tricky. You see it off the highway and then have to drive through the Hobby Lobby parking lot to get there (which is a weird parking lot with one way lanes and such). Anyways, onto the food. First off, they don't have cheesy corn. So that kind of set them back in my opinion. That's my favorite whole hog side. Then the coleslaw was pretty mediocre. The pulled pork was fine but nothing special. Sauces were good but you can't mess that up. Not great ambience and when my other half went to order, he told the girl at the counter what he wanted and she went into the kitchen. I suspect she was checking availability but she could have said "let me check if we still have some" or something. All in all, I won't be coming back to this location. Meh. read more

None of my party was overly impressed with the food. I had half chicken, it was very dry. Wasn't impressed with the side choices. The salad was watery, and my salad dressing was seperated. It came out in a gel like form. The buns were very good at least. Don't think myself or my dining companions plan to go back. They weren't big fans of the bbq.. but not eating it myself, I can't comment on that. read more

Definitely would have rated higher as this is great BBQ. only problem I've ever had is that in the last 4-5 visits they were out of ribs or sausage. I always go well before closing, but even as early as 7 pm on a Friday they were again out of ribs. read more
