Fantastic pizza restaurant and craft beer taproom in McMahan TX! The owners are great people who ensure the place is a well run establishment. The pizza and wings are both excellent. If you live nearby join the McMahan Country Club since you'll get $1 off beer every Wednesday and other perks. If you are ever making your way through McMahan, make sure you stop here. You won't regret it.

This is suppose to be the "Whizz". It has no sausage at all and hardly anything else on the pizza

Really good pizza in an old fashioned saloon-type building. They get the crust right every time.

I had been going to another spot in town (Lockhart) that ho early has really crappy service, so wanted to try something new.

What a perfect little hidden gem! Our family was heading back to Houston from a visit to Fiesta TX…read moreand wanted to find somewhere to eat that wasn't too far off the freeway and wasn't fast food. We managed to locate Flatonia Pizza Co on yelp and decided to give it a go. It was a little hard to find as it is tucked away behind an ice cream shop. They operate out of a food truck and have a neat little setup with outdoor tables and yard games like cornhole and jenga. The pizza was truly amazing! My husband tried the cheeseburger pizza and added jalapenos to it, I had a pizza with pepperoni, ham, sausage and drizzled with hot honey (WOW! Is all I can say!), the kids had regular pepperoni and sausage and we all shared some garlic knots. Everything was delicious and cooked perfectly! Definitely exceeded our expectations. Luckily our family members own a farm in Moravia so we will be able to visit again in the future. Will definitely be back as soon as we are in the area!

We were visiting from out of town and looking for an easy dinner option…read more I will say, it was SUPER WEIRD that we picked up pizza made in an ice cream parlor ( i think it was in the back or out of a food truck). I ordered with some teenage girls and it was ready about 30 minutes later. I know you can also order online. I would suggest if you have more than 2 people sharing to order another pizza or have a side salad as these are not huge pieces. We just got a pepperoni pizza- and it was actually super tasty! Our only issue was how greasy it was, even the bottom? I am not sure how that happened.... it was like they put butter under the pizza? And for that I would give them a 4.5 star rating. Overall, this was a good option for us in the area and I'd eat it again if we were in town on a Friday or Saturday night.

They offer a menu of apps, salads, Southern Italian pasta and NY pizza, along with Gelato,…read moredesserts, beer, wine and cocktails. There's chicken parmegiana and eggplant parmegiana. But entrees are pretty much pasta or pizza. Still... the pasta is obviously made from scratch, and that's not something I expected in Bastrop, so I'm very pleased. I have not tried the pizza. It looked good. But in my next visit I'll try the pasta that's served in a cheese rind. And the time after that I'm probably reorder exactly what I tried last night, which is the Cannelloni Funghi - three amazing tubes of fresh pasta, stuffed with Italian cheese and a bit of veal mince, and topped with a mushroom cream sauce and a liberal amount of shaved parmesan cheese. So rich and velvety and flavorful! Yes, they offer fresh ground black pepper :-) I had what the waiter described at "spumoni" but it was not spumoni ice cream - it was what he described as an "adult milkshake" with a chocolate liqueur and brandy. It was really tastey. They say they have "chocolate chip gelato" lol. But don't get fooled, it's authentic Italian stracciatella! That's so iconic in Italy. It's really sad that the waiter called it "chocolate chip." Hardly does it justice, as you'd know if you've tried it. Their $15 cocktails are really good. But who puts Jim Beam in a Manhattan, Negroni or an Old Fashion? One of the drinks had Templeton Rye, which was an infinitely better choice. I mean... Jim Beam? Really? I should have taken a star off for that... especially at that price. But... dang, that cannelloni was good!

I wanted to choose my own toppings and assumed cheese would be on it so I didn't choose cheese. They sent a text asking me to confirm that I did not want cheese on my pizza. I didn't see the text because I was driving there, but when I arrived they had not made it yet, since I didn't respond. That really impressed me. That was great customer service! It's a small place back in a corner, so I see how I missed it before. While I waited they let me sample a small cone of their homemade ice cream. It was chocolate cinnamon. It was not bad, but not something that I would have put together. The ice cream was creamy and it they had another flavor I would have bought some! I ordered a small pepperoni, with onions and peppers. They don't use green peppers but they had red and yellow. It was delicious. Their pizza doesn't come with a ton of toppings but the sauce and crust are so good, you won't miss it. I will be back for more!

Spent $30 on two vegetarian 12" pizzas and a further $8 on nonalcoholic drinks. We finished all but one piece of pizza which was a great breakfast, and it's easy to put away because the toppings were simple but pleasing and good quality. I'm not beholden to any one style of pizza, and want to say the thin crust here is outstanding. Delicate, chewy, airy, not overly filling. Ridiculous it took me this long to visit, but we're big cheerleaders now.

One of my favorite things is that they offer pizza by the slice, depending on what they're serving that day -- and from what I understand, they always have pepperoni slices available, which is a plus. When you walk in, you can actually see them making the pizza from scratch, including hand-stretching the dough and tossing it in the air. It's a fun and unique touch that adds to the experience. They have a good amount of seating both inside and outside. Since this is Texas, outdoor seating can be a bit of a gamble weather-wise, but it's nice to have the option. Parking can be a little tricky, but when we went on a Sunday night, it wasn't bad at all. The service was great -- everyone was friendly, helpful, and very attentive, which made the visit even better. They also have a solid selection of alcohol and seasonal drinks, which pairs well with the pizza. For the kids, we grabbed a cookie, and it was very delicious -- definitely recommend it as a sweet treat after your meal. Overall, if you're in the area and want to try a place that's a bit out of the ordinary, I'd definitely recommend stopping by Pie Society and giving it a try.
