We did wait a while for it, but it was hot, fresh, and tasted good. I hope they keep this on their menu. The onion rings also were nicely cooked and fresh. Unfortunately, their pickle spears we would never order again. These felt like they were right out of the freezer and they had no special touch to them plus they were extremely dry and overcooked. The wait staff was friendly and attentive. This is more of an overall sports bar vibe. They do have instant pull tabs for lottery, which was fun. We would give them another try.

Our bartender Mercedes was beyond kind, and she even reheated the friers to feed our hungry bellies even though the kitchen had closed earlier in the night. Can't wait to stumble upon this place again some day.

The food is pretty good. But the last 2 times we went there…read morewe were met with, " close the door!" In a nasty voice. Both male bartender and waitresses were not nice. The first time we were just trying to get in and there were people in the way. The second time we were in but they were yelling at people behind us. Saying how much the air conditioner costs for the place. Then as you're waiting for a table there's no where to stand to get out of the way and everyone keeps telling you don't block the bar. I don't know where they want you to stand. My cousin ordered a daqueri and the girl making the drink had a fit. People go out to eat to enjoy themselves not to be yelled at and betrated. We always treat the server's with respect and leave a good tip. There is no reason for this nastiness.

I'd been here once a number of years ago, at which time this place was truly a dive. Walls were…read morecovered in very well-worn carpet, the place was almost too dim to see in (in the afternoon), the beer selection was very poor. I think I had a Blatz. I didn't order food--I could do just as well eating something off the sidewalk, I thought. Inspired by the good reviews here, I went back this week. What a change! New wood paneling on the walls, a very clean atmosphere overall with lots of natural light. And good craft beers. I ordered the chicken-bacon-ranch salad and was impressed. Lettuce was fresh and finely cut, meat was tender and generously portioned, with enough bacon to provide an accent but not dominate the salad. Salads at small bar-and-grill operations are sometimes a dicey bet, but Mio Saloon nailed it. Don't get me wrong--this place hasn't been yuppified. It's still a down to earth small town bar catering to a biker clientele. It also seems to be a spot where locals just meet to have lunch and chat, dragging the kids along. The vibe might be different at night. I get up to Mio a few times a year, and I plan to find out next time I do.

Came here after a recommendation from someone at O'Conners in Tawas, they said get the specials, so…read morewe did. Today's special was a prime rib wrap sangwich. It was good but a little fatty. We paid an extra $3 for the o-rings, they were battered and good. Also on the specials was a chicken schwarma sangwich, it was good. They gave us the toom garlic sauce on the side. The fries were just ok, a little soggy. I am guessing because the fryer wasn't hot enough or couldn't keep up. Third special we had was the fried perch. It was 1/2 lb of lake perch, nice small filets cooked well. Coleslaw and fries were as expected, but the fries again could use some improvement. It was pricey for $25; but I still ordered it. Our service was awesome, they had 1 girl for the whole floor, and she had a huge 20+ party, and a full dining room. The dining room looks untouched in forever, but that's ok for here. The bathroom had cool old license plates and chalk board to write on. I removed the profanity and phone numbers. I'd come back here again for a solid meal if in the area.

I've been there twice now…read more First night (Saturday) there was very loud, derogatory rap music playing. Families with kids eat there, they should not have to hear stuff like that. It was very hard to communicate with the server due to the noise. The actual menu is a lot smaller then what is shown on their website. Especially fish options. I had grouper tenders which were small and mostly breading. Not worth it. Fries were excellent. Tartar sauce appeared to be pure mayo, no sign of relish or lemon at all. Ketchup, mustard, and salt were the only condiments on the table, not sure if anything else was available, like cider vinegar or even pepper. It's a pub, you would think all that stuff to be automatic. Second night (9 pm Sunday) I tried to go elsewhere because of my previous night's experience, but not many other options. Most of Alma was already closed. Tonight there was no music playing, so I was able to have a conversation. I had the olive burger with steak fries, my son had boneless wings with Thai sauce and waffle fries. Everything was very good, and a good value for the money. I guess I need a third night to be a tie-breaker.

Really liked the jalapeno/onion strips and battered green beans. Delicious olive burger and waffle fries. If you're looking for a place to relax and enjoy a meal, want a taste of pre 2020 service, this is a great bet. This industry continues to be plagued with labor shortages and I don't envy them one bit but it sure is refreshing to hit those high notes during these difficult times while enjoying a good meal and supporting a small business.
