This is a real 'old school' barber. He has been doing this for 53 years and knows his stuff. He has a straight razor and leather strop, those tall bottles of whatever they are, and quite a few stories!!! read more

Great haircut! Whitfield pays close attention to the customer's instructions to give the exact haircut desired. Hard to find anyone with 54 years of experience as a barber. Wonderful old school barbershop ambiance; fishing magazines, house DIY magazines, Sons of Confederate Veterans newspaper, Christian scripture stocked in the magazine rack. Entertaining Southern raconteur. Just plain ol' down home good. read more

Brandon's barbershop is a great shop to stop by and get a crispy fresh haircut without a long wait…read moreeven with just one barber in the shop. The perks of going to Brandon's Barber and beauty is the joy of having a great conversation with Leron Brandon also as known as "Ron". Ron has been around for a long time and is a very wise man about what goes on around in the world. This shop has the best atmosphere to get comfortable in, I recommend to people who are introverts and have trouble speaking to others like myself.

He clearly has no customer service skills and is very verbally abusive to women. I left feeling violated both mentally and physically due to the manly haircut he gave me that I repeatedly did not ask for. When I arrived I asked if he could cut women's hair and he said he could boy was I wrong for letting this incompetent guy cut my hair. I wish I could give half a star!!! She asked both the stylists in the back, and they both said "we got a color coming in later", and that I could come back tomorrow........so much for walk-ins welcome, huh? I realize that a "color" pays more money than a man's haircut, but I always tip well. This was the second place I stopped in for a haircut today in Roxboro. The first place also advertised "walk-ins welcome", but the lady up front said she didn't know where the help was, and I'd be better off going "across the street". Are you kidding me? Neither place was very friendly, and didn't WANT my business, so much for small town hospitality, huh?!
