e purchased a Hermamn tortoise from the pet shop and aquatic centre .within two months we had to have it put down .The vet said the animal had been malnourished and that type of tortoise was not suitable as a pet. Probably imported from abroad . We have had no reply to our emails to the Garden centre. Do not make the same mistake as us and buy a tortoise from this shop .There is a very good chance it will have been mistreated and sadly is likely to share the same fate as ours. read more

Main cafe if always overly busy and so crowded, no proper menus on the tables or around the cafe, just what the specials were. Went to the ice cafe onsite, ordered some food and it was put onto a hot metal plate (no warning about it being hot) and my wife burnt her fingers picking up the food from this. Overall food was pretty poor quality and only after we paid we were told we would have to wait for one of the mains. This main didn't come until after I finished one and we had to chase them for it. Food+drink were very overpriced as well. For the shopping side of Whitehall, it's very overpriced. read more

This is a review of the restaurant. If we're in the area, we often visit the garden centre for lunch. The restaurant is large with plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. Highchairs for babies are also available. The food is generally excellent with generous portions and healthy options all at reasonable prices. Parking is available but the entrance car park is usually full and you'll end up in the spillover car park a couple of minutes walk away. read more

This is a fab Garden Centre. It has a great selection of plants and gardening paraphenalia and as an added bonus it also has lovely play area for kids and a special one for younger children. In additional to the plants there is a good range of gifts on sale, plus a florists and a farm shop with lots of lovely local and luxury produce. At this time of year it comes into its own with a fantastic Christmas shop and grotto which helps make Christmas a truly magical time for kids (and parents) with a trip to see all the decorations and of course Santa. If you need a break after all of that then the restaurant serves lovely cakes and meals. read more
