About once a year, the girlfriend and I forget how much we hate camping in the rough, and try again. This year we rented a VW crap-box and after one night the staff here was able to take the rest of the £ we paid for our pitch and put it toward a cabin!! GREAT customer service. GREAT facilities. But for the child-phobic, this is a child/dog/family rich environment. (Hence only 4 stars) You have been warned. read more

Whitecliff bay itself is a beautiful beach and we were incredibly lucky that we had the most beautiful sunshine for the whole of our week long visit. If you are less lucky with the weather your trip may be much less enjoyable! We stayed in a caravan which I would class as basic at best, however we did enjoyed our traditional holiday experience! The onsite facilities are adequete and really this is a location for families on a buidget, if you don't go with too high expectations then I think you will really rather enjoy yourself. The Nab Bar and Restaurant is quite homely and welcoming, there is a pool and shop etc. read more

Ok, it's not the classiest of places but what do you expect from a campsite? This is the camping in the genre of 'pretend butlins' with bad (so so bad) entertainment, faux redcoats made up of the local students and drama school failures (bless em), huge halls serving chips chips and chips, and a home made 'games arcade' manned by a man who obviously didn't think his life would turn out this way. But, this place is pretty good, because despite this (and deep down I love all of that anyway) there are 2 swimming pools indoor and out, and a death defying path straight down to a lovely beach. There is everything you need - and all for just a few quid per night if you are camping. Be aware that the campsite for tents is across the road from the main park (a nightmare when its raining but hey ho). Good and tiring walks in the area. read more

This is a caravan park and campsite near Bembridge on the Isle of Wight. We camped and had an ok experience, even though the showers and toilet block were not at all clean and hadn't been renovated for quite some years by the look of it. The actually holiday park is across the road (not nice to have to cross the main road to get there all the time!) and it was like stepping back in time. It was all very cheesy entertainment, typical of a holiday park but the children absolutely loved it and we went every night! The beach there was outstanding - but beware of the tide coming in! The beach bar/restaurant there was lovely (the one furthest away from the path). read more

This site was recomended to me by a friend who came here 4 years ago. Well it's now under new management, and its going downhill BADLY. GOOD POINTS; camping pitches very big (10m x 10m) indoor and outdoor swiming pools. sauna, sunbed room, hairsalon staff very nice. 3 bars, 1 take away, carvery; main entertainment hall + i small hall puls another above the indoor pool (but this was always closed). BAD POINTS; campsite on the other side of main road to main park, pity they failed to mention. showers and wc's dirty and not clean properly, when my wife complained about this they ended up shutting one of unisex wc (which was handy in the night as they saved you from from travelling to the main blocks)instead of cleaning it. They said they said the blocks were cleaned 3 times a day,but when i pointed out to the cleaners about the cleansiness the cleaner told me it was in his contract not to clean above 1m and he had a time limit has he had other sites to go to. 20p for showers, washing machines, iron, dryer, which was ok if you got them to work and if the shops had change. long walk to beach (20mins from campsite) with a steep pathway. swiming pools closed at 4/5pm entertainment DEJVU you had to reserve a place the day before if you wanted to eat brekfast in the restaurant (but not for any other meals, strange). i wont be coming here in a hurry. still cowes week was very good. read more

Whitecliff bay holiday park is without a doubt the worst holiday park we have ever stayed at. We arrived at our chalet and the first thing my wife did was head for the toilet. As she went to close the sliding door it fell of its runner and hit her shoulder also the wooden pelmet that hides the rail fell away and struck her on the head. Having comlained to reception we were soon moved to a caravan which i must say was well presented. We then headed to the Nab Bar for dinner where we were greeted by a not very friendly member of staff who moned constantly about being over worked and wishing he could have a day off. We ordered the 7oz cheese burgers which were delivered to our table in a matter of minutes. These were to say the least rubbery and tasted like cardboard, they had obviously been cooked hours previously and kept in a hot plate. This holiday park is old cheap and definately not cheerful. I recommend you do not go to Whitecliff Bay Holiday Park. read more
