My husband and I already heard about the food reputation of this pub so we trek to the village of Curdworth, in Coleshill, to meet his friend and wife for a perfect meal. We had been in Curdworth before enjoying other nice pubs in the area but I have to say, White Horse is a 5 out of 5 experience! Checking their deals, we decided for a Wednesday visit when there is a steak night when 2 meals + a bottle of wine costs £29.95. Considering the size and selection of steaks and also the the vast wine list, the meal was not pricey at all. This very cozy pub is an invitation for those who want to bring your family, partner or just want to treat yourself with good meal and good drinks. Update: I just forgot to mention this pub sponsors a local team called Coleshill Athletic which our friend Simon plays for and he probably will be very happy now that I mentioned it! So, go Coleshill Athletic!

The halloumi came with chips, mushy peas and a gorgeous gherkin relish. The gherkin relish was so nice, the waitress went and got some more for me! It was priced at £9.5o, so not cheap but definitely worth it. I had the Melba crème brulé for dessert, it was nice but I think I prefer my creme brulé as just that rather than with an added layer of sponge as this had. The pub has a feel of a countryside village pub so didn't really feel like I was by Birmingham.

I think the locals should think themselves very lucky. My wife and I drove 400 miles from Scotland to spend 2 or 3 days there eating, drinking and enjoying the different copmany. We were not disapointed and the 800 mile round trip was well worth the time and money! The food was absolutely beautiful, as was the service, prices and the local customers. We cannot wait to return. If your are nearby or even within an hour or two of a drive, PLEASE make the effort to go and you WILL become regulars! Do book for food at the weekends though as they can be very busy even though they are 'in the middle of nowhere'. FANTASTIC 5*

On ordering my meal I was offered either tomato and spinach pasta or mushroom risotto. I had the pasta, which was nothing special, when my friend mentioned to the owner it was a shame that there was limited vegetarian options, we were subjected to a triad of how this is a meat eater restaurant and why should he offer vegetarian options, he was really rude and obnoxious and I was left feeling really upset and discriminated against just because I don't eat meat. The owner is really a rude man and there are obviously a lot of people taken in by his false, smarmy attitude, my friends included, but now they have seen him in his true colours. I notice that there have been several other reviewers which have the same opinion of the owner.Avo
