This gym has one squat rack, no bumper plates or Olympic lifting platform, a substantial dumbbell…read morerack, a few dozen treadmills and ellipticals, several stationary bikes, TRX gear, a spin room with more exercise bikes, a large and small exercise room, and every cable machine under the sun. There are a few pairs of kettlebells up to 20kg. The facility is brightly lit and clean. There's a lounge to wait for your training partner to get changed. It's open until 11 at night on weekdays and 9 at night on weekends. The locker room is fairly large with lockers that you can lock for your session by entering a keycode. There are showers but the gym does not provide towels. The gym is large yet often cramped, since the place is crowded and the equipment is placed close together. The music is often *extremely* loud, like a dance club. The music doesn't stray from the same dozen pop songs, and if your workout lasts more than an hour you'll get to hear the songs twice. The patrons and trainers leave barbells loaded and gear all over the place. There are places to do pull-ups but the grips are odd and other pieces of equipment overlap with the zone needed for pull-ups. If you choose to squat, bench, or deadlift, be careful of people wandering into your space while you're doing your reps: the heavy bag is right next to the squat rack, and paths for people to walk are placed so that they bump into people who are lifting. All in all, MacFit is a fairly typical Big Box Gym experience.
