Not having me or her father there to advocate for her, she had to attend this appointment by herself. She explained to him that they get so terrible that she often throws up and passes out. We instructed her to ask for an MRI, which she did. She was told no way is he sending her for an MRI for just migraines, gave her pills and told her to take for the rest of your life. That was it. When she was back in NYC for Christmas break we took her to a neurologist here. Two serious issues were found on her scan, both of which we will be following up with in New York. I'll start by saying Dr. Benda's bedside manner while treating a very nervous 19 year old girl was atrocious. Shame on this situation and you Dr. Benda, do better for the people that place their trust in you.

A form was emailed to me with NO address to send it to. I have spent HOURS trying to find an address. What a joke their organization is. Save yourself hours of hassle...go somewhere else!!!

The doctor barely looked in our infant's mouth for under two seconds and claimed he could tell the adenoids were enlarged based on that quick glance. He then pushed us hard toward surgery right away, making us feel like there was no other choice and pressuring us to put him under the knife. No mention of trying allergy medications or any other conservative options first -- nothing. Adenoids sit high behind the nose and can't possibly be accurately sized by a fast look in the mouth. That only lets you see the tonsils. A proper check needs a scope through the nose or an X-ray. We left feeling pressured and uneasy about the rushed exam and lack of alternatives. Wouldn't recommend this doctor if you're looking for careful, thorough care for your child.

I even met with a financial person prior to having any testing done. She told me the average and a range of expected cost for the test that I was set up to have. Apparently I was naive to think that the top of end of the range she provided would be the high end of the spectrum of what the test would cost. No, that was not the case and it was $200-$300 higher. Then, I had to pay again to go over the results, this was never disclosed to me and I must be a moron for assuming that if you get a test done you want the result analyzed as part of the cost of the test. I am assuming more and more of their patients will be working with these high deductible insurance plans and they need to learn to be more crisp on ALL the costs up front. My experience with the doctor and staff was great, but I will make sure to get the EXACT cost prior to letting them do anything in the future.

I was interested in having some skin tightening done under my eyes and had a consult scheduled yesterday. I took off work and arrived for my 2:30 appointment. At 3:10 I had not been seen yet. Twice I was told he was "just finishing up and would be in shortly." I had somewhere to be at 3:30 so I informed the office manager I was leaving. Her words were "he's just finishing up with discharging someone," zero apology. She sat there and said nothing when I said I was leaving and I was not pleased I had taken off work. I still have not heard from them to follow up and am assuming I won't. To act like my time isn't valuable is inexcusable. This comes less than a month after I referred my sister to have $20k in procedures done, and they knew that. I will never return.

I've had severe, almost unrelenting pain radiating from my neck down my entire left arm with most pain localized in my arm/elbow area. Went to this urgent care Monday night because my huband goes here and they did provide a prompt exam and cardiac work-up which wasn't conclusive so recommended I go the ER because my blood pressure was "crazy" as described by the PA that saw me. Filled out paperwork to set up a primary care provider here before I left. Went to the ER Monday night (UIHC Iowa City - another to avoid!) and after five hours to certify that I wasn't having heart issues, I was discharged with likely cervical nerve pinched or damaged. Despite the pain I was experiencing, the University of Iowa ER wouldn't even give me a Tylenol before sending me home. Wednesday (2 days later) I go to PT at the University for my first appointment. Too much pain to do anything beyond applying a TENS unit at max power for 10 minutes with no relief. They send me back to my primary care provider because they state that I need something strong for the pain. Go back to this Mercy "Urgent Care" in North Liberty and my primary care account isn't set up yet or something (pain makes it hard to concentrate) AND the best they can do is set up an appointment for me the following Monday!!! WTF is "urgent care" when they don't even screen your vitals, see you with tears on your face from the blinding pain and again, can't even offer you the medication you were sent there to recieve?!? Now I'm home, serching for the gabapentin the vet prescribed for our dog (one of the meds they mentioned at the PT appointment) and will have to use WebMD to find out what does I should take. Maybe some old leftover opiates in the medicine cabinet somewhere, again, on my own to determine how to live with this pain for another 5-6 days. Thanks for NOTHING!!!

I was seeing Dr Moon before she transferred to this location. When I tried to schedule and appointment with her there it took 2 months of them just pissing around. First I'm told that they aren't scheduling for her at this time and I needed to call back at the end of the month. I call back at the end of the month to schedule and then I get told I need to come fill out paperwork first, why wasn't I told that in the first call?, so I go fill out the paperwork they told me they would call as soon as they got my records. I waited another month and then I call back just to be told that I'm not going to be accepted by her and I asked why, they came back and told me it was because of to many no shows. I have ZERO no shows. My last appointments with her were rescheduled because of her not me. I called the old clinic and they looked and told me I have no, no shows. If you want a doctor that treats you like a human and not a number I highly suggest not going to Dr Stephanie Moon because she will lie about you and by Mercy standards it's totally ok to mess with peoples health. The person in charge, Gina is no help either, she just lets her staff lie and doesn't care.
